This thread will be about possible weapon modifications due to the abilities of gameplay in Halo 5: Guardians. It will also be about making certain weapons unique in the sandbox (e.g. the forerunner weapons).
Plasma Rifle: this weapon has no smart scope feature. Instead, it is dual wieldable, and once it is dual wielded, it has the stunning effect it had in CE.
Suppressor: this weapon has very low damage and a high fire rate, but can be used while sprinting (controversial).
Carbine: more damage, and more bullets per mag. Normal HUD scope from previous Halos.
Brute Weapons: slightly increased melee damage due to the spikes on weapons.
Boltshot**:** Scrap shotgun part, make it have a large magazine and extremely high rate of fire, low damage.
Scattershot: less range, slightly faster fire rate. Also, more bullet ricochet. The farther the bullet is from the gun while ricocheting, the less damage.
Feel free to add any more suggestions!

> - Bad idea there. Dual wielding was removed for a reason, it made it too hard to balance the sandbox. Having only a single dual-wieldable weapon sort of makes it a redundant feature.

I was thinking that the Surpressor would be more a run and spray kind of weapon. Though I can definitely see why it would be controversial. And for the boltshot, they can rename it, and bring back the mauler for two different kinds of weapons. Also, the Carbine was meant to compete with the BR. I felt that it’s damage was too low, in Halo 4, and it wasn’t quite as sprayable as before.
The halo reach grenade launcher was unique and should return.
The needler rifle could play different.
When you hit someone their shields take longer to recharge.
example: when you’re hit by the needle rifle and run for cover your shields normally charge after idk 3/4 seconds. But the timer won’t start until the needles in you explode. So the person attacking you has more time to finish you before your shields come back.
And of course it would have the super combine explosion when you fill a enemy with your clip.
