Im not here to bash 343, but i do think this should be changed somehow. Some of the commendations are unreasonable. How am i supposed to master something like the plasma pistol? Or something like the binary rifle that spawns randomly and rarely?
It will take forever to master ordnance, even if your a skilled player because the weapon drops are random. Im all for the ordnance drops, i think they are sweet. But the commendations are near impossible to complete.
Any suggestions?
Dominion is good for power weapon masteries and and SWAT is good for maxing out your DMR and BR
i bet in a year some people will have it. my suggestion is dont worry about commendations, they are meaningless
Because it’s supposed to take time, that’s why it’s a challenge. I know some people with the Plasma Pistol mastery though!
Already have 100+ PP kills from spamming it in Regicide. It’s possible. (My K/D is suffering though).
Does performing a melee kill while having a plasma pistol equipped count towards the commendation?
I’m doing very well with my ordnance commendations. Should have unsc done by the time the first map pack comes out.
Saw a guy with the unsc ordnance reward with 3k kills earlier today too so hopefully that report I sent Microsoft will be looked into…

I believe there will be gametypes in the future that use the mongoose more often. I’ve done a bit of it so far though.
I wouldn’t say meaningless. There is some sick armor attached to those commendations, some of which i really want.
They are going to be very hard to master.
But that is the point.
Don’t master them if you can’t, because then by definition you aren’t a master.
Since 343i was too lazy to make ranks and levels past 130, they made impossible commendations.
I disagree. Some are not based on skill. I’ve mastered assassinations, im good at getting them. But that commendation is based largely on skill of getting them, where ordnance is primarily random. I may be great with the binary rifle but if it never spawns what am i supposed to do?
The other thing you have to think about is the fact that commendations are supposed to take awhile because they are one time things.
I plan on playing H4 for a long time, so I don’t mind having goals that take a long time.
As Pajamas said earlier, they’re designed to be hard. It wouldn’t be fun if everyone had 100% commendation completion after 2 weeks, would it?
I think they should allow Weapon Mastery to progress in Spartan Ops. That would help the Plasma Pistol, along with lots of rare ordweapons (Fuel Rod Cannon, Binary Rifle, Concussion Rifle, etc.)

I disagree.
These are meant to be hard/time-consuming/KD-destroying, and shouldn’t be farmed in SpOps. The rareness of such weapons is arguable, because Dominion is ridiculous.
the commendation for the gungnir armor takes awhile

At first i thought the same with some of the weapons in the game but with the fact that theres a ton of differnt armor to unlock and that they didnt add an achevement for getting all weapons mastered, i dont really care. If they had done that then id be kinda frustrated but with the fact that you can get to 130 without needing any of the extra xp that you get for commendations i dont think its really that big of a deal.
I honestly think some people are put off by just how much time and effort is needed to achieve some of these commendations. Personally, I’m not bothered, it just makes the reward that much more satisfying when you finally complete it.
