Well, Frankie just confirmed it at RTX. There will be weapon lowering over LIVE. This is great because it makes it easier to make Machinima. My friends and I made two episodes before we had to “give up” because we had to go to each other’s houses to do it.
He said you can do that in MULTIPLAYER. He didn’t say anything about doing it over Xbox LIVE. We have been able to do it in multiplayer ever since Halo 2.

Multiplayer is over Xbox Live, derp. And no we haven’t. In Halo 3 we couldn’t do weapon lowering unless you were on Local (which is not online). Same for Reach.

Multiplayer is playing with more than one person. Playing local is still multiplayer. He didn’t say anything about Xbox LIVE. Learn your -Yoink- before you talk.
Personally, I never used this feature but I must say im really glad to hear that 343i is listening to the fans and giving them features they want. Forge had a lot of things I would have liked and more. I must say, they are doing an excellent job especially for a new company.

All XBL is multiplayer, but not all multiplayer is XBL.
Now the question is will it be as easy as in Reach. (I say that and not Halo 2 because eventually your finger would cramp in Halo 2’s method. Plus you had to have no grenades.)

That’s baloney. If he meant local he would have said local. Multiplayer usually = Xbox Live in most people’s minds. He would not have said “multiplayer” if he meant local. You need to learn your stuff before you talk.

He said multiplayer. He didn’t say Xbox LIVE, so that means it is not confirmed over Xbox LIVE. It is confirmed that it is in multiplayer. Weapon lowering was in multiplayer in Halo 3 and Halo: Reach, but it was not on Xbox LIVE.

Then why say it is over multiplayer? It’s always been over local. One of the most asked for features was the ability to perform it over Xbox Live so it is easier for people to make machinimas. Most people associate “multiplayer” with Xbox Live. It would make no sense to say it is “confirmed for Mutiplayer” when it is easier to say “it won’t be available for online, but we are continuing to do it over local.”
