Weapon Glare needs to go

I feel like it just needs to be dialed back a little bit more than anything. My issue is that the glint is so big/bright it actually makes seeing the player’s actual body harder. It takes up like half their body if they’re more than 30 meters away. It can be especially bad for sometimes as the bright whiteness of the glint will physically strain my eyes if the lighting hits right.

Every LOS is open sometimes; especially on big maps but really even on the small ones. There’s no safe places in this game, even more so than in every Halo. You can’t avoid being killed by a sniper, even if you know the other team has one; not to mention, unless I’m playing with my friends and one of them gets the power weapon, it’s not necessarily going to communicated to me who picked it up, unless I happened to be watching it at that moment.

The point is, the sniper can kill you when you don’t even know that they’re there, much less aiming at you. The glare at least gives you a chance, if a slim one, to avoid getting instantly killed. It also forces the sniper to move around which limits the ability to get insane and frustrating streaks of kills.

And half the time people don’t even see it, i’ve had plenty of games in launch site where i grab the sniper or the skewer and nobody seems to see my scope glare… or they’re too busy with other things

That’s not what I meant and you know that. A snarky answer isn’t a good answer; the overall stealth gameplay has been reduced, active camo with a sniper is pretty dumb in CQC.

Honestly, you’d be spotted right away with or without the weapon glare thanks to lines drawn by the red sharpie around your character

But yeah, get rid of the weapon glare and while we are at it lets get rid of the outlines and bring back team colors

Yeah, I’m not a fan of the scope glare, but the real issue is the enemy outlines. It makes it almost impossible to miss an enemy on your screen. Only ally spartans should be outlined.

What’s the point of being a sniper if you can’t hide?

I agree - weapon glare either needs to go or be massively toned down.

Why are you using a sniper in CQC?

Also unless your the OP or the guy above me, I wasn’t even talking with you or responding to anything you said, why do you feel the need to butt into it?

Weapon Glare doesn’t belong in Halo.

It does, now.

Sniping isn’t strictly about hiding.

Really, it’s about making the other mf run and hide. You know sniping - and its cousin, suppressive fire, is about deterring engagement and ensuring enemies don’t leave cover for fear of death, right?

It’s the stupid ones you kill.

Well I didn’t say it was strictly about hiding. It’s just that every sniper in war would want to hide not to let his position to be known. I think there’s a place for that in gaming, and I don’t think there’s a need for this scope flare thing. It’s like hide and seek. Part of the fun of engaging a sniper is you go and find them for revenge

The moment they turn that off the forum’s gonna get bombarded with “I keep getting shot from nowhere”

Leave it as it is an adapt. Same with outlines around players.

Well, you’re not in war, you’re in a game.

Besides if you’re attacking from the right angle… You don’t have to worry about people seeing your glare, lol.

It’s a game simulating war

Perhaps players should adapt without a crutch instead. Snipers are meant to be ranged stealth weapons, not signals for the enemy.

I’m not opposed to it. It’s a nice warning, “hey, someone wants to take your head off”, but it’s way too bright. It outright obscures the person with the weapon.

And as I stated before people don’t tend to notice it either maybe they are new, i dunno.

lol, no… it’s… it’s not.
