I just thought this was interesting. I don’t feel adamant about it, but I wonder what the rationale is.
Death without using equipment drops it. Also if you want to switch out just walk over another equipment. As far as a button to drop maybe that would over complicate the already weapon drop.

I understand what you mean, but games like apex and fortnite have been doing it well for quite some time.

It can be a good option to consider in the future. The game is still open to change.
The “switcher” keyword in some of the control options make me think that we’re going to get the ability to open a little inventory menu on the dpad. Maybe that’s where we’ll be able to drop equipment.

Someone on their mic yesterday was saying the preview files have Battle Royale audio queues in there. If that’s true, we’ll definitely end up with a button to drop our equipment at some point.
