I’ve had times where I’m holding a power weapon, get killed, insta-respawn within 1 sprint (1 click of the button) distance, and yet still not fast enough to find it.
Why? This game has quite a lot of weird things, like Killcams being random, and Winning Killcam having only appeared for me during November 6 and never after that.
I really hate this as well. If killed someone who had the Sniper Rifle from across the map on say, Complex, I -Yoink- deserve to have that Rifle or atleast fight him again for it. This despawning weapons fast has made this game a shadow of its former self.
I support this thread completely, it gets annoying that every time I know the location of a weapon, I’ll run towards it and it’ll be gone, because it’s despawned and not because someone else has grabbed it.
If it’s Ragnarok I usually end up camping near the only weapon placement I know of on the map that drops routinely and that’s the sniper rifle.
I usually end up using Firepower with the Ammo mod if I feel like doing a continuous run through effectively at long range. I tend to think that this is encouraging a faster paced gaming experience however Halo was known to have a choice in what pace you wish to play at.
Also when it comes to finding the weapons that have not to my knowledge already disappeared, through the scope of an enemy it looks as if I just picked up a controller that have the sticks set to southpaw with an inverted pitch the way I go looking for them.
Due to weapons despawning so frequently, and the loadout selection menu counting towards the despawn time, it is nearly impossible to have any sort of consistent weapon spawns in the game. World ordinance and just placing a weapon just cause dynamic timers.

you brought up a good point. what if you could conserve power weapons? Then you’d get 5 different snipers on the same map due to ordanance drops, and the game would be broken. The point is if they increase the amount of time weapons stay ingame, for ballance, they should also nerf the ordanance system. While I’m in favour of this kind of emphasis on map dominance as opposed to skill and team dominance, if they change any one aspect, we should also think of it in context of the sandbox.
