When I heard about 343i giving us preorder weapons in the BR and SMG that had different scopes, and potentially better/ worse stats, my mind went to this:
Noooooo!
343, I don’t care if there are customization weapons only for Warzone… No, 100% ABSOLUTE no! I have half a mind to stop my preorder of my collector’s limited edition and put the money I was putting aside for the Halo 5 xbox for a PS4 for the remake of Final Fantasy 7. 343, get this garbage out of OUR game, this isn’t YOUR game, it is OURS, we are what is buying this, so don’t you dare try to put this garbage in here. Weapons for Halo have always been balanced, and easy to learn to use, don’t make teaching this to new players have asterisk to every statement we do to convey the weapons usage.
I’ve accepted the micro transactions, I’ve accepted only suits of armor… but I won’t accept this.
Everyone post your grievances against weapon customization if you don’t want Halo 5 to be CoD AW. I don’t care if you post in this thread, but we will FLOOD 343 with the demand to see this removed!
Sorry you’re mad bro. But this doesn’t matter.
I actually kind of agree. I don’t want weapon stat customization.
It seems more like Halo Online where you get pre-set variants.
Hopefully it’s not gonna end up pay to win or over powered.
Whos this we you keep talking about?
I am going to wait and see what its like before I jump to any conclusions that I might make.

I don’t think you realize how childish that sounded.

Ok, don’t play it then…
First off, this is 343i’s game. Not ours. They are not making the game we want. They are making the game they want. That’s not selfish in anyway.
There’s nothing wrong with weapon customization. It only helps the matchmaking economy, as new players will get attached because they want something to unlock. Ever seen Destiny’s unlocks? That’s why people stick around.
When playing WARZONE (and Warzone only, a game where individual skill and weapons don’t matter as much), you have a choice to select what version of the weapon you want to use. I have a feeling different attachments cost more points. So no, it isn’t unbalanced. You won’t immediately get to start every game with an insta-kill Assault Rifle. It even makes Halo more realistic, since the Army adjusts their weapons based on individual role.
I hate how the second someone brings up something that could actually be a problem the whole community wants to burn them like a witch on trial, yes OP may have sounded like an angry kid but his point is a concern, Halo has never had a weapon variant until Halo 4 and even then that was just re-textured. If 343 decide to have variants with better or worse stats it could lead to someone who bought a different REQ card for a gun having an unfair advantage over someone who didn’t purchase one.
Please stop all the extremely venomous attitude towards anyone who doesn’t see Halo 5 as perfect because although it has upsides like any game it will have downsides 343 aren’t gods they are just developers.
Sorry, this has nothing to do with your post, but I think FF7 will also be on Xbox One.

I agree with your point about stopping the instant attacks on posters but I don’t see a problem with weapon customization/variants. As long as they aren’t involved in Arena, it seems like something that could keep the game fresh and fun in Warzone. Besides, weapon balancing isn’t a really big issue when it comes to large scale battles.
343i have said MANY times that Warzone is balanced and that there is in NO way any pay-to-win scenarios in this game. Everybody still has to reach the same levels in game to get new gear. Also, this only affects Warzone. This allows a giant sandbox where everybody can do what they want. Do I want to sit on my base and snipe every pleb that walks by? Hell yeah I do! But I still gotta go out there and get the points to earn it first. Same as you.
If 343 wants to make weapon variants like a BR with a scope and a BR with a reflex sight that’s okay, but they cannot be acquired through paying more/preordering. That would be the most counterproductive thing they could possibly do after preaching a “return to arena gameplay”. Everyone deserves access to every weapon in Halo right off the bat.
Straight-up weapon customization, though, gets a big no-no from me.

However is arena all ranked? or is there a Social playlist like in the old days where you could go in and just have a fun time without being overly competitive and if so will REQ cards effect casual game modes like BTB or social Slayer style modes, if so then it sort of kills it for people who may not want to play in the over competitive games but don’t want to have to play a more random and more chaotic game modes.

From the information we’ve gotten so far, it sounds like playing multiplayer gets you REQ Packs, which include weapon skins, weapon variants, assassination animations, emblems? and armor. I assume that things like assassinations, armor and weapon skins can be used in Arena game modes but weapon variants can only be used in Warzone. So I think you can get all of the bonus preorder weapons in game through unlocking REQ Packs by playing but by preordering you get them instantly.
Cosmetics are the only thing that will transfer over to arena. Anything that may make a weapon better will stay in Warzone. Not a big deal really.

That still gives anyone who preorders the game a distinct advantage. It’s inherently unfair to everyone else, even if you can get the packs just by playing as well.

Warzone is way more casual. It’s about having fun, not competition. Weapon balance doesn’t matter as much in Warzone as it does in Arena.
was all in for h5 until now. does this game have any features? its like they gutted everything for what? frame rate? graphics? i highly doubt the invested the data in something that could use it.

You’re missing the point. Any iota of unfairness like that should not exist at all in Halo, regardless of the gametype.
