Weapon customisation ideas

  • Classic weapon sounds as customisation
  • ADS/Zoom effect reticule could be themed with the coatings
  • Reload and melee animations
  • Muzzle flash effects
  • Bullet impact effects
  • Imagine the side kick having a flaming muzzle flash, fire sound effect (mixed with the regular sound) and a
    small flame effect on bullet impact
  • I see a lot of different coloured plasma effects in the forge leaks. If we had something like this but
    emanating from the top of your gun like steam. That would be interesting.
  • A hot metal effect would be interesting. Imagine the side kick looking like the top of it was in a furnace and it
    is glowing hot and emanating a faint smoke effect
  • Coatings evolving as you fire shots (Resets when you reload). For example: If you have an animated coating.
    It could get more intense or detailed as you fire. A glowing coating could glow more and more

That could then be an easy tell on when the user is about to reload and could quite easily determine a fight’s outcome depending on the weapon (Say the weapon about to reload is a Hydra or something like that).

It would be up to the player to decide whether or not they should use things that give them a disadvantage, just like armor.
I remember people in Halo 3 saying wearing the Security and EVA helmets made it easier for others to get headshots on them, but people still used them.
