Weapon CREATION in Forge

Just thought about it now. In Forge, you can craft weapons from an array of parts. Scopes, grips, ect. Change colors of them.

Then there’s a section that deals with projectile and effects. Choose any projectile and color. Put effects on the wepon itself and the projectile(static auroa, frost, smoke, ect).

Then a sect that deals with mechanics. What type of weapon it is (shotgun burst, 3 shot burst, automatic, 1 shot). How much ammo for the weapon and per magazine. How much damage it does. Blast damage. Blast radius. Groundshaking power.

Then you can choose a reticle from an array of parts.

Then finally, you name your weapon.

You can save up to 20 weapons to your profile. Any weapon you have saved can be available as a weapon option in the Custom Games option. You can set your gun as a Starting Weapon in a game. You can save weapons on maps. If your saved map has a custom weapon on it, it will stay, but can’t be used in custom options.

Each custom weapon you make in Forge takes up 1 space for a pre set weapon you could have placed on your map.

If you wanna make a map with some sorta shotgun pistol that fires needles, with a blast radius that could shake the entire bunker of Hemmorhage, you can! If you still want a Katana from Halo 3, you finally can have one! A sticky grenade that blasts you 50ft in the air without damaging you. Or how about a C12 remote explosive? EMP Mines, Volt Blade, Gravity Glove, Gauss Rifle, Civilian Magnum, ect.

Would you guys like a system like that?

Would you guys like a system like that?

lol
a gun that has a 30x scope, but only shoots a bullet with the power of an uncharged Plasma pistol

> * Advanced Forge - Something like the current Forge, just with the option to add in objects, weapons, vehicles, textures, terrain, equipment, armour abilities, etc, that you created or downloaded online, using a program? You can choose not to, but it would be a possibility. This would let the people who enjoy the current Forge have even more options, without having to learn to use a program like that. The option to select if an object is destructible, plus the ability to make an object move, and also button and levers and such which can activate other objects would be nice. Maybe also a PC version of Forge for better aligning objects and stuff? This way, the possibilities would be endless. It would allow remakes to be completely accurate, with even the original weapons, vehicles, etc. The option to create a skybox on the program and setting it in-game would also be cool. I hope 343i does this, because it would make Halo amazing.
>
> * Advanced gametype customization - The ability to have a gametype automatically analyse a map and make it possible to choose weapons and loadouts specific to the map would be amazing. That way, if a weapon, vehicle, equipment, armour ability is on the map, you can choose whether it can be used, whether it’ll be in the game, whether it’ll be in a loadout, whether you’ll start with/in it, and many more. Then, for even further customization, one could learn the coding and code the gametype themselves.

I posted this in another thread. I think something like this should be in Halo 4.

LMAO

This probably won’t make it in Halo 4, but if we get enough likes, maybe they’ll consider it for Halo 5.

I won’t work i’m assured.
But it sounds cool.

I somehow don’t this happening for a while in the Halo Universe.

For Halo 4, I’d settle with just bieng able to tweak the stats of individual weapons.

E.g:

Bloom%

Spread%

RoF

Damage

Clip size

Reload time

One hit kill headshot? Yes on unshielded target, yes on any target, no.

You get the idea.

You should copy this and put it in the pooling forums to see how many people like the idea.

Make that polling both forum, not pooling.

If implemented, I think this would be the biggest innovation in Halo history. I’m just not sure if it’s even possible though.

I dunno about creating weapons from scratch, but maybe the option to change how a weapon works, like editing an assault rifle to shoot spartan lasers.

Sorry, but I will never see this happening in Halo.

Yeah, this most likely will never happen. In the stock version of the Halo 2 Vista Map editor, you can’t make custom weapons, and with that said, I will add this, what you’re asking should be in a stand alone Map Editor.

Make a separate menu in the main menu and call that the armory (cant we go back to the appearance tab? it was so simple) where you can make custom weapons like smgs, shotguns and stuff. Make it so you can switch components like receivers and gun barrels so you use different ammo types and even have ammo or projectile customization so you an edit the range speed and spread of the ammo type. Then you can save them to forge where you can place them. And can we have forgable ammo crates, then we could make some awesome infection maps and do stuff we cant do now with guns that are so crazy its fun?

Only and ONLY if it stays in custom games or action sack playlist, I don’t want to see this in regular matchmaking.

^This
Halo is a Sandbox fps, which means that each weapon and vehicle has a unique place and purpose in the game which makes it balanced for Examples:

AR: short/mid range distance

Sniper Rifle: long range

Rocket Launcher,Spartan Laser: vehicles

list goes on

if you have weapons made out of an arrangement of pieces to make an entirely new weapon then it makes gameplay unbalanced.

What im NOT saying is that this is a bad idea. This is very creative. It just wouldnt work in Halo.

No, that’s not what I’m saying. I’m saying for Forge and Customs. Most customs are for fun, and so balance doesn’t really matter.

Your basically asking to get the dev kit

Hey, why not?
