Shouldn’t they apply to Spartan Ops? We get Commendations for enemy kills and vehicle kills even, but why not for weapons?
War Games is the virtual training ground for S-IV recruits, I get that and why most commendations would apply there aside from Cov/Fore enemies.
Spartan Ops are supposed to be the actual S-IV deployments on Requiem. So why do we get progress tracked on weapon use in training but not in the field itself? One would think the more impressive feat would be to master a weapon against the real enemies?
Plus think of it like this, are any of you ever going to get the Plasma Pistol mastery normally? Very few I’d expect and even fewer legit.
I agree the weapon commendations should be altered to count in Spartan Opes as well. I’d be fine with it even if it took twice as many of whatever the commendation asks for if done in SOPS.

That would be fair, we do kill far more Covies than other Spartans. The AR for example, 1000 for mastery in War Games, maybe 5-10K for Spartan Ops?

I’m never going to get 1,000 kills with an AR in War Games… Ever.
Let alone get all the other commendations to mastery just to get a different skin for a set of armour I already have…
I think the armour unlock requirements are absolutely and utterly absurd.
Some of the commendations I can see myself eventually completing, but stuff like the Plasma Pistol I don’t understand how its possible. I do wish weapon commendations worked for Spartan Ops as well.
The commendations would be worthless! I don’t care if you can’t get Plasma Pistol mastery legitimately, because other people can and they deserve it. The commendations are difficult for a reason and getting them from AI would be stupid, like the already moronic “Enemies” commendation tab, that really just promotes playing Spartan Ops OVER AND OVER again, with no skill involved whatsoever.
As for having a separate Spartan Ops-specific weapons commendations tab, I couldn’t care less, go ahead.
Some of us aren’t too keen on the MP, but still want our ability to customize and specialize our Spartans. Weapon commendations should branch out to SpOps.
I honestly think that we should earn commendations because Spartan Ops is so boring by itself, we should be able to gring for at least weapon commendations
If the MP commendations are multiplied by ten (AR from 1,000 in MM to 10,000 in SO). I would be behind it. Maybe even a difficulty requirement. Like normal or heroic.
Commendations that apply to Multiplayer should most definitely not apply to Spartan Ops.
There’s a big difference between Mastering something in Multiplayer and Spartan Ops and for Commendations to apply to both devalues getting something against real players.

Take a note from Reach and let people get whatever they want, provided they put the effort in. (don’t make it so grindtastic though.)
I think you see a few people on here almost folding their arms and saying MM, MM, MM only!!!
What they should really do for H5 (as it hasn’t happened here or in Reach), is to provide a properly achievable set of commendations, not the current set of commendations where some are easy and some ludicrously hard. This falls solely on 343’s shoulders.
It wont change for H4, but we can make them try and do it better for H5.

im not gonna lie the plasma pistol is hard but it is possible im about 98 kills from maxing it and I started about 4 days ago at 3 out of 5 in the first level. Try going into regicide with an automatic and then switching at the last second to the pp to finish them after a couple games you’ll get the rhythm
