Weapon classes.

I think there’s going to be weapon classes. What will you use? I’ll use shotgun and sniper.

shotguns and sniper rifles are still ordinance. You don’t get them off the bat like COD or Battlefield.

If I can use the promethean weapons, I will use the Light Rifle as primary and Plasma pistol as secondary. Noob combo ftw! If not, the DMR + Plasma Pistol.

The balance between guns, melee, and grenades. With people spawning with different weapons/grenades and becaue people who play more get better gear there is no balance between the three. Equal spawns do not exist in gametypes where custom loadouts are allowed.

I guess that’s been screwed since Halo 1 since we can swap weapons near our spawn.

The Golden Triangle is a basis that all 3 are viable options to kill a player with. When of them is not in line with the other 2, the triangle is messed up. The goal is to get all weapons to be great to use in some places and not in others. Having BR starts because all the other weapons suck is a sign that the triangle has been messed up.

IMO, it should be a great thing they are going.g through with a weapon loadout feature. It tells me they are at least attempting to balance the weapons alot better than the precious games, which would make classic types even better.

On-topic: I’m going to try as many as I can. It really depends on what is useful and what isn’t.

You forgot the Promethean Light Rifle, Boltshot and Suppressor (they were shown with unlockable weapon skins: only loadout weapons have them).

Having a predetermined and unfair advantage is not balanced. And no, being able to pick up and change weapons after spawn isn’t unbalanced or breaks the triangle. It’s called weapon/map control and it’s a massively important part of the game. Everyone has the chance to get map weapons regardless of how long they’ve played the game.

The important thing is that people like you get your own playlists where balance isn’t an issue and people like me also get their own playlists in which traditional proven halo gameplay reigns supreme. Agree to disagree?

Heh, its sad you have this attitude towards loadouts. Loadouts are put in the game with BALANCE in mind. All the primary weapons are going to be ON PAR with one another. No MAIN STARTING weapon in its class will be imbalanced. But all you knuckle heads in these forums don’t understand I suppose.

Being able to start BR or DMR isn’t unbalanced, considering those were the gametypes always picked in team slayer anyways.

Right now I’m leaning towards Carbine and Magnum but once I’ve played with the Halo 4 iterations of all the weapons I may change my mind.

Have you watch the mlg halo videos bud? And yes I’m aware the vids are from an old build but that doesn’t change the fact that it’s impossible to balance them, to make all their kill times the same. You unlock better weapons as you go, which is why it’s call a progression system, not a lateral gift system.

343i has stated in NUMEROUS interviews and panels that the starting weapons in the loadouts (this means all of them btw) are tuned to how the player chooses to play (or rather the players play-style).

What this means; which many have failed to understand, is that although each weapon behaves differently that doesn’t mean they are unbalanced. They have also stated that in each map there will be map specific DEFAULT loadouts that ALL PLAYERS can choose. Which leaves no player at a disadvantage and also FURTHER balances the weapons altogether. Either way, there is likely going to be 1 highly populated ranked playlist like that of reach where there will be different takes of the same mode i.e Team Slayer/Infinity Slayer/Classic Slayer etc etc.

So whether the community likes it or not they are going to appease the major audience.

Also yes, I have seen all of the mlg videos; they are already balanced. You’re just to close-minded to see the balance, the burst fire of the BR lets you work in those misses, the dmr has a different scope and reticle bloom, and the covie carbine eats through its ammunition faster than the other two. Anything else you want to debate about? I pretty much shut you down.

You do realize that Loadouts are in all the playlists right? I think the only ones that won’t have them are the Classic playlists (if there are any).

Infinity gametypes have personal ordinance drops, that’s the difference. The majority of multiplayer has loadouts.

Also being always able to spawn with the BR instead of the -Yoink- AR is the dream of every Halo players.
