the one thing I hated most about all Halo games (and pretty much the only thing I hated) was the weapon carryover or Lacy thereof. No really…I would finish a level with a full fuel rod cannon plus DMR …only to be lifted by a pelican/falcon and dropped off with a YOINKING AR AND MAGNUM…
I am OK when there is a reason for it but it pisses me off when it is arbitrary or nonsensical. Do we know how it will work in halo 4
It’s because you change to a different level.
I decree that there shall be weapon carryover.
Happy now?
But really I don’t know

I haven’t heard anything, but I do believe it will probably stay the same. Do you know why? The game developers assign different guns for different missions, because each and every mission has its own set of environments, and own set of enemies. Plus, the assault rifle is just the gun the chief always wants in his hand.
Yeah, I wish it was like certain missions in Halo 2. You end a mission and start the next one with the same weapons.
So during the time that has passed in between the end of a mission and the start of the next could be hours, days, months, who knows what you could have been up to? A campaign in a game highlights the main events of the story, we don’t see every single battle.
Each level is design for a separate experience, if you came into a level with weapons the game is not designed for you to have so early defeats the purpose of the level design.

you mean like in reach when I get on a pelican with a drop shield, a full Sniper rifle and a shotgun BUT when the pelican crashes not 30 seconds later the weapon I drop (and pick up) is an AR and my armor ability switched to sprint?
right…awesome and coherent

read above
It’s a FPS with seperate levels. If you want weapons carrying over then Halo should have gone the route of a FPA.

top of my head there is 2

there are more mind you those are just at the forefront of my thoughts

You mean the Falcon ride near the end of WC? I still had my weapons. And the fighter. When you get off and board the Corvette, you still have you weapons. If your talking about the begining of the level then that was because it was a new mission. It was always like that…

Yeah you’ll keep your weapons when it makes sense, but dont always count on it
I remember ending Tsavo Highway with a Fuelrod Gun and beginning The Storm with it.

no I am talking about when the Sangheili knocks you back, you revert to AR and magnum regardless of the weapon you JUST had. And the other part is when you crash with with Jorge in the falcon. The same thing happens AND your AA gets reset.
I’d love to keep my weapons…of course after an atmospheric re entry I can understand the weapon reset but JUST from getting knocked back? give me a break.

it doesn’t ALWAYS happen but there are some note worthy instances…they piss me off

dude…just…no
