And Halo doesn’t need simulation of bloom, RNG has no place in Halo and as such bloom should be removed completely ( automatics have spread and as such remain as is )
Spread does not equal bloom lmao how do you not understand this???
I played Shadowrun so bloom has never been that big a deal to me. Cones of random bullet spray you can’t regulate are far worse.
Well in reality you also aren’t a super soldier who can flip tanks soooo comparing halo bloom to reality is not close
Never said it was close to reality. Just was stating that shot dispersion increasing with continuous fire is a thing that happens in reality, and that there is a mechanical dispersion inherent to most firearms/ammunition combinations, and therefore the concept of “bloom” is one that has basis in reality. Never argued that the exact way it’s depicted in-game is realistic.
wrong, bloom is never necessary on precision weapons.

Totally agree. Said this earlier today. Bloom should not be in an arena shooter.
Kinda eliminates them being classified as-precision weapons- if they lose most of their precision 3 - 4 shots in. Bloom has never had a place in halo. The small exception of automatic weapons being fired continuously is a solid argument but that’s where the trade off occurs between precision or spray and pray.
Look Im against bloom as well. But saying bloom doesnt have a place in halo… since it has been in the series since halo ce
bloom absolutely does not prevent spamming, it literally encourages it.
if you and I get into a gunfight with the mk50, you slow you shot and I spam, im going to win about half of those engagements due to the bloom awarding me a lucky headshot faster than your precise ones.
It was like that in Reach with the DMR and its always been terrible.
This is a video game…an arena shooter at that. I don’t give a damn about IRL accuracies. Bloom causes random variables in aiming which hurts people with better aim and helps spray and prayers. Its a bad mechanic.
NO IT DOESN’T.
Holy crap its clear as day you’ve never fired a real weapon. Bloom is random. Spread happens because of recoil and the human body naturally sways, but a good shooter with a properly sighted scope/iron sight is going to have very very very little spread.
If you’re going to try and argue IRL scenarios for game balance then at least know what you’re talking about.
So why do weapons like the sniper have bloom? Wasn’t aware a single shot could cause my bullet to curve left or right of where I was pointing at.
What they are trying to simulate with that, IMO, is the aforementioned inherent mechanical dispersion, plus maybe ammunition variation and “hip fire”. It’s exaggerated in-game to be sure (and quite frankly, I don’t care one way or the other about its inclusion), but in reality, even a heavy-barreled rifle (especially a gas-operated gun) has a shot-to-shot variance in point of impact. The heavier the barrel, the less this variance is mechanically. A good rifle, with a really good heavy match barrel, with really good match ammo, will realistically keep shots within half an inch at 100 yds - meaning, mechanically locked into a vise, there is still half an inch of dispersion potential in 360* shot-to-shot. Now, that’s with a really good barrel and really good (factory) match ammo. If the ammo is of lesser quality (less precise bullet seating in the cartridge case [how deep the bullet is], less precise measurement of powder for the cartridge, or a lower quality primer that won’t ignite the powder at the same rate every time) then you end up with more dispersion - 1", 1.5", etc - even with a good barrel.
Now, being a gas-operated (semi-auto) has an impact as well. Depending on the exact operation of a gas system, there may be a number of moving parts, and slight misalignments of these parts (even just a couple thousandths of an inch), or parts that are moving while the projectile is still in the barrel, can also impact accuracy. You also then get into questions of dwell time - how long the bolt is locked in battery - and its impact on pressures and accuracy, which also brings powder selection for a particular bullet into question as different pressure curves caused by different powders will interact with the same bullet differently, which has an impact on accuracy. Gas guns, if the gas system is simple and involves few moving parts, can be as accurate as a bolt action, but this is much harder to achieve. You really have to have a good, stiff barrel, a well-tuned (or very simple) gas system, and get your ammo spot on - powder selection, powder volume, primer selection, bullet selection, bullet seating depth. If any of those disagree with your barrel or gas system, even a good barrel can print a group that looks more like a shotgun than a precision rifle.
The problem removing it you have rebalance all weapons.
If you remove bloom then pistol becomes best range weapon since it has highest firing rate.
So you shouldn’t be asking remove bloom you need to be asking on another mechanic to balance weapons.
This would mainly be justified by rate fire pistol would a lot slower with smaller mag and longer reload time.
Snipe riffle would be slow down you slow down how long it takes bloom to reset.
Bloom adds a skill gap because you can’t just spam you need to pay attention to your reticule .
I think main problem it adds rng and that’s what most people complain about.
Going full speed especially full pistol is more rewarding then going max efficiency on rate pistol at mid range.
Removing bloom would just make pistol same weapon as br at max range.
Right now I feel bloom should be more small but max rate should be huge that outside Blake range you miss.
So say you aim mid range full auto pistol you should only hit 3 times but if you do it you still can get kill which begs why.
Because game random generate shots and still picks middle, what should do is only pick outer edges of circle which would 99% generate miss. This would reward efficient over inefficient.
Right now every goes full auto go for rng and that’s why everyone hates it.
I am going to continue my campaign against bloom, it has no place in Halo and can be balanced around perfectly fine.
Absolutely agree…theres no reason for it. Like ive said before i was banned, im a spartan who can flip the mammoth from halo 3 but i can hold my gun straight like the “normal marines” that look up to me… makes no sense at all. Doesnt balance anything it just makes people more fristrated and leave your game to go to other games or MCC.
