Remind me of these so called skill weapons your talking about. ![]()
I hope you aren’t considering calling the CE PISTOL, BR, DMR, and Magnum, a skilled weapon. Because those weapons are always OP in every Halo game which literally makes no sense to Halo Lore or the Sci-Fi Universe Community. Your telling me a weapon that uses bullets is more powerful than a weapon that uses plasma, hardlight, or energy mmm
highly unlikely
Who cares what the gun is called, the fact remains that the AR has never required any skill and as such was made weaker to encourage more skillful play with other elements involved. Infinite’s AR is extremely potent for zero effort and harms the gameplay.
Hm yes, I see your point.
I can only talk for me. I think the HI AR is definitely reliable even if there is no other weapon nearby.
However, I have had no issues changing the AR or the Sidekick with other standard weapons from the sandbox, like the pulse carbine, the plasma pistol, or the disruptor. Maybe the weapon I would use less is the commando… But in any case, what I like about Infinite (at the moment) is that almost all weapons can be used with no problem. A newcomer can be effective in the game even with the default loadout, and at the same time, experimenting with other weapons can be more effective for other players or depending on the map and the growing skill with that weapon.
I personally think they solved a problem that persists in Halo CE and Halo 5 in terms of sweatiness and boredom. It’s just my opinion, of course! I understand if people don’t agree. ![]()
Strongly disagree. The BR needed a small rebalancing and it seems about perfect now to me.
I like the slightly reduced grenade spam or at least less effective grenade spam. I’d still like to see a slightly greater time between consecutive throws as well.
The AR is a solid weapon and moderately versatile. To me that’s a key part of keeping the game fast paced since I don’t need to try and avoid the enemy until I can find a useful weapon.
I will admit that I can’t really tell the difference with the Commando. I like it and still use it but still seems like a poor man’s BR to me. Admittedly I am not that great a player, better players seem to feel differently.
Overall it’s pretty clear you need to find a new game to play. For all the many problems Infinite has, most people think the core gameplay is one of the strong points.
I mean you could just spawn with a BR and never worry about having to avoid until you find something useful - but everything is better than the BR at the job they’re designed for.
If it requires no skill, than simply stick with it and win. The spawn weapon needs to be usable, something AR starts in 3 and SMG in 2 weren’t. BR in 2 and Pistol in 1 are examples of guns that end up being too good in too many situations, thereby discouraging use of anything else. In Reach, the pistol was powerful but was completely defeated by the DMR at medium/long range, leading to a real choice. The Infinite AR still loses to Heatwave and Bulldog at close, and Shock Rifle and BR at long. A fire selector may be a new way to control distances, Apex Legends did very well with that over Titanfall 2s system.
Bad game design, zero depth to combat.
That’s why you spawn with a BR or magnum, so players have range projection off of spawn to contest power weapons.
Doesn’t make it well balanced, considering the bulldog is extremely limited in range by comparison and the heatwave is much harder to use. The AR is simply too easy and too rewarding.
Unneeded and unwanted (Outside of scoped fire modes) in Halo.
There actually is skill involved especially if you learn to pulse the trigger of it, which will help you win AR duels over other players who don’t pulse the trigger and just hold it down. Halo 2 and Halo 3 are in MCC if you just want to play a game where the only weapon anyone uses is the BR. Having the game revolve around one gun Is not balance.
Not the point and still shallow, oh wow you can tap the trigger such skill such wow.
Which is completely untrue, skill issue.
Neither is a game where braindead bullet hoses are able to outcompete most other guns with very little effort or skill on the side of the bullet hose user
This isn’t true and you know it. Go play H3 and stop whining.
Yet in my experience when someone is outperfoming everyone in my games it’s usually with a precision weapon. That to me suggests the balance is about right and that the more difficult to use weapons are not only viable but capable of outperforming the AR if you are skilled enough.
I agree that BR starts also work for having a good starting weapon. Unfortunately those modes are poorly polulated in my region so I rarely play them. Not sure what you mean about everything being better at the BRs job? What other weapons are as good at both medium and long range combat, and still not terrible at close range, surely it’s a pretty short list?
Just gimme my Grenade Launcher and I will be happy being the crazed demoman Spartan once again.
No no you misunderstand. Every gun is better at its own job, than the BR is better at their job.
BR can’t do a Sentinel Beam’s job, or an AR’s. Can’t do a Rocket’s, can’t do a Stalker’s.
None of those guns can do the BR’s job.
Those are just examples! Every gun is worth picking up even with BR starts.
That makes much more sense. I definitely read that wrong the first time.
AR needs a major nerf pistol and br need a buff. Auto spam isn’t halo never will be.
