Weapon balance for multiplayer does not feel right.
The starting AR is too strong for all ranges. It does not encourage switching weapons since it’s so overpowered.
The magnum feels disappointingly under powered. 7 shots to kill an enemy? Might as well get rid of the sidekick all together with that kind of TTK.
Power weapons are pretty useless since the starting AR does a better job at tearing through enemies at short to medium distance.
The Pulse Carbine is probably the most useless weapon of all. Bullet velocity is too slow for medium to long range and the burst makes it a terrible weapon for close distance.
For the love of Gravemind, please use the Halo 5 weapon balance for the standard AR and magnum.
I thought at first too, but I slowly came to the conclusion that sidekick is meant for close range (if you spam it) whereas AR seemingly is better at medium. I found a use for it even in Ranked play.
This isn’t Halo 5. Balancing being equal to that game wouldn’t be ideal.
Yep, been playing since day 1. The AR in this game is brilliant - but Too brilliant. I’m being taken out at long ranges like never before. It’s not fair when you have a BR or VK78 and are trying to nail mid to long range headshots - your opponent has the AR and less skill but often gets the upper hand.
Really disappointed with the new version of the covenant carbine, this was always my go-to ALT Rifle. New new build is a waste of time. Please make this a valid choice. In halo 3 this matched the BR as a mid to long range weapon
