One of the things that got implemented in Halo 5 that I really liked was weapon customization.
Halo Reach did an amazing job at armor customization and seeing this kind of customization returning is a relief. Halo 5 in my opinion was very fun to me due to the weapon attachments. It was good to edit the weapon after your preference to an extent. A Halo with the combination of Halo 5 weapon customization and Halo Reach armor customization would be pretty nice, in my opinion.
What do you think?
Should attachments return in Halo Infinite?
Its an interesting idea, like being able to add a silencer, or a specific scope you like. But I think it would make it feel too much like COD, so I’m not for it. Thats the same reason I didn’t like load outs in H4.

I definitely liked a lot of the weapon variants in 5, but I do feel like they went overboard and a lot of them felt like duplicates.
I just don’t know how they could implement them in Infinite. I definitely believe they need to stay away from the Arena portion. If we had a Warzone esc mode but with no REQ system I think I would enjoy it there.
I don’t mind as long as it’s not in ranked. I’m fine with it in fire fight. The only question I have for you is would master chief use attachments ??? I don’t think so

I actually think so, Master Chief loves his AR and to put on a scope and a plasma-bayonette would make it more deadlier.
Weapon attachments wouldn’t really work in the halo sandbox. Halo (and arena-style shooters in general) rely on a a small yet varied group of weapons. Each weapon has to fill a specific niche and should work reliably. A weapon always working in a specific way when you pick it up is important. When you add attachments, you end up with the lines between weapons being blurred, which hurts the sandbox for this type of game.
That being said I wouldn’t mind attachments return as a custom game/ forge options or perhaps for PvE modes (if we get something like spartan ops then it could be good to have). Just not in regular pvp.
I think that adding weapon attachments would certainly add to the fidelity of the game. Real guns have attachments (extended magazines, suppressors, scopes) and all have their pros/cons. And all things every soldier/wetworker/Spartan surely considers before each mission. I’m sure the technology in the Spartan helmet links and -Yoink!- for aiming, but certainly some technical limits even there.
I think the instance should be carefully implemented (social, firefight, careful consideration for Ranked). But, definitely want to see that return.
While I can not support this if it has any impact on gameplay, due to the negative impact on the sandbox, I don’t mind it as a purely cosmetic feature. I had proposed the other day bringing back Weapon Variants, just as simple skins with no impact on weapon performance. I still believe this would be the best of both worlds. More visual diversity without muddying the sandbox.
I would prefer it if weapons didn’t have variants. I want to be able to pick up a weapon and know exactly what I’m getting. That being said, I do think there is a lot of room in the sandbox for entirely new weapons that fill specific niches.
For the sake of balancing I would love to keep all weapons standard, skins are enough customization for weapons.

It would be cool to have a side mode like this. An arena style game mode where you get pick ups. It would just be a different type of Halo.
only on map pick ups if they do, like the silenced ARs or SMGs from 5
I’m down for cosmetic customization for weapons, not functionality modifiers like what we had in 5.
I think it would be cool for campaign but I think they confirmed proper weapon customisation wouldn’t be implemented in campaign a while ago. I wouldn’t be surprised if we see some halo 5 style gun variants though. It would be totally fun to snipe grunts at uber long range with a BR if you could put on the scout (i think) scope from halo 5
edit: i think I’m thinking of the sentinel BR actually, jsust got the name wrong
Sure, but only in a playlist like Warzone and maybe PvE. Definitely not in any kind of standard slayer match.
No no no no no no no no and guess what NO.
In all seriousness though we want unique weapons in the sandbox. If you want Weapon customization go play COD.
I think customization for weapons definitely could make sense. And if they do plan on making a BR game mode, then for sure it will happen.

Halo 5 had weapon customization, thank you for advice. I will go play some Halo later today.

I really liked the plasma-bayonettes and the forerunner thing, that made guns more effective against vehicles, and the COG scope. But with enemy outlines in matchmaking it wouldn’t be necessary, but to have COG scope in campaign or firefight would be fun, if they don’t use enemy outlines on covenant.
And the thruster thing you could have on a weapon with high recoil.
EFT level customisation? It’s too OP so let people choose between different customisation schemes. You can only use the EFT customisation in Infinite only once per day.
