Weapon Attachments & What They Do

I keep seeing various threads pop up on waypoint with people asking questions about the various weapon attachments and what their function is so I figured I’d put together this post with the attachments and what they do.

Extended Mags: self explanatory, increases weapon magazine capacity to around 2x

Silencer: when firing your weapon you will no longer show up on an enemy’s radar

Kinetic Bolt: increases damage against vehicles, adds a knock back effect against smaller vehicles as well

Laser: increases bullet magnetism, adds a red glare that can be seen by enemies when aiming at them

Targeting Laser: adds a temporary tracking mark to enemies in red reticle range, lasts a few seconds

Long Barrel: increases effective range of weapon

Stabilization Jets: reduces recoil to almost nothing on weapons

Light Blade: increases melee damage to a 1 hit kill on enemy spartans, increases effective lunge range of melee

Knight Blade: increases melee damage against vehicles, adds knock back against smaller vehicles, increases effective lunge range of melee

Hopefully this helps those who are curious about what each attachment does.

Great… It would be nice if there were better definitions on the weapons and variants. Some of them aren’t very helpful. It would be nice if there were more detailed specs. I watch many vids players make to see what exactly some of the perks are for each weapon.
What exactly is Knock Back? I haven’t been able to exactly figure out what it does. If it’s more damage to a vehicle it’s unnoticeable to me.

Knock back is the aspect of something being knocked back.
idrk what you want me to say for that

Knock back will slow down a vehicle if it’s headed straight for you, at least if it’s a small vehicle like a ghost or a mongoose, doesn’t slow down or move larger vehicles all that much, but it can help push a vehicle on the edge of tipping over. As for the damage boost it does have a semi noticeable effect on the weaker vehicles

Thanks… Good definitions like that are great. I really didn’t even know what to look for…

Thanks for this, very useful

Targeting laser you dont need to smart link you just have to look at them to mark them also extended mag increases your total carry capacity (same amount of reloads but its still more ammo), and silencers actually tune down the distance your weapon noise travels as well and it make them harder to hear even when close along with the radar.

Huh, it usually won’t mark for me unless I scope in, I’ll double check it tonight

I was using it on my br when the update dropped and I never had to zoom in for it to work I just looked over them

yeah go to 3:05 on this video here

I hate that light blade isn’t always a 1-hit kill, sucks

It is if you have the increase strength mod on, it counters the advanced shields countering the blade

This is very helpful

I really never paid a whole lot to attention to the mods. But the wheelman is good one for the vehicles. Extra protection for you and your gunner.

Knockback – bullets that push you. Kinetic bolts increase knockback on spartans as well.

Examples of weapons with very high knockback – Blissful Slumber (Rare Storm Rifle), Answer (Rare SAW). When you get hit with these weapons, not only is your shield/health shredded, but it’s hard to reliably fight back because they have extreme knockback and throw you around. Especially the Answer.

Hope this helps.

The Answer shreds everything such a great gun
