Well we know Halo 4 multiplayer is 100% canon in Halo 4. So, everything in MM is canon.
That means that weapon/armor skins in MM should appear in Halo 4 campaign.
I mean, if people in MM just have weapon/armor skins in MM, that seems like a waste of valuable resources and time to not use them in the field. really what is the point if they have no use outside of training.
With that in mind, I feel it only makes sense that marines and other spartans are gonna have weapon skins otherwise it is pointless if you consider Multiplayer canon. You can’t say MM in canon then add things like armor skins and never use them or say that they are non-canon in canon.
well there is kind of a reason that they cant be in campaign. I havent seen chief with different colored armor before. I mean do you want to change his armor and color?
> well there is kind of a reason that they cant be in campaign. I havent seen chief with different colored armor before. I mean do you want to change his armor and color?
Well we are supposed to meet marines who could have weapon skins and camo armor in addition to (possibly) spartan 4s who have weapon/armor skins in MM which is all 100% canon and part of Halo 4.
So really, there is no excuse why we shouldn’t see weapon/armor skins in campaign.
These spartans are probably bored on the Infinity. They probably just mess around with their guns and armor to pass time. I mean spartans dont really have much use anymore since the war is over.
and Master chief is a different kind of spartan. He was part of the truly “stone cold” breed of spartan. He probably never feels compelled to toy with his armor or his guns, because he probably doesnt feel attached to them. Also he has rarely had any time for something like that, these new spartans have been on the Infinity for years!

I never said that chief would be adding things to his armor. I mean if these advanced customization options are being made on armor, then why wouldn’t they be used.
It seems pretty stupid and a waste of time to make camo weapons/armor and not use it. Also if it is not used really in the game, what is the point of having it in multiplayer if multiplayer is supposed to be canon and a representation of the Halo universe.
Ok, I meant to say that, these spartans are doing the customization THEMSELVES. They are taking the time to make their armor THEIRS. Not that the UNSC is making any kind of paintjob for them, but the spartans are doing it on their own.
These guys are on the UNSC Infinity for years, so they have to do something to pass the time. Why not paint their stuff? I mean, look at noble team, they have tons of stuff painted on their armor that they did themselves.
The UNSC isnt making “skins” for armor. I mean, how does the Pulse skin or the Web skin have ANY form of functionality for the UNSC to implement into their various armors? The UNSC wouldnt even try to make useless paintjobs for armor. Its just bored spartans painting their armor and weapons.
I hope that the red/blue colors only represent the S-IVs in the virtual reality simulation. I hope that in the real world (the campaign) they S-IVs consist of military colors - various shades of green, brown, black and the like. Nothing would ruin the maturity of the campaign more than when the infinity lands near chiefs position for the first time, the ramp opens and a bunch of fruity looking multi-colored power rangers come out to greet him. I would prefer to see them all with the same olive drab armor. Makes them more imposing and more realistic. With various skins to differentiate squad leaders etc, but realistic military colors.
Half the reason the skins as we see them look so dumb is the rather eccentric colors they’re using. I imagine a MC coloration would look much more professional and military.

That is fine and I have no problem with that.
BUT, if they are spending the time to make these skins in MM when it has connections to campaign, then we SHOULD see skins appear in campaign or they are completely pointless.
Like you said, the spartans spent time to make these skins and modify their weapons, why shouldn’t it be in campaign?
Look at Emile for example, that would be like him having finished carving his helmet, used a new helmet for missions.

Considering all the training is going on inside a virtual reality world, is it that hard to think that they’d be able to customize their virtual selves however they’d want, just like we can?
So… are you saying that you want Master Cheif to get a entirely new looks because of MP skins, That does not seem like a good idea, That is Cheif’s signiture armor that we have grown to love, they are not just going to change that.

Well, we may very well see spartans like Emile. But we probably wont see many spartan characters that are Spartan IVs that have MUCH customization. probably just like a character with the camo skin, and maybe one with the raptor skin. Just to show that these radically different spartans exist within the UNSC

Well, their suits are NOT Virtual reality. It isnt that hard to imagine, but its probably less likely.

Their suits inside the virtual reality are…virtual.
As far as Armor/Weapons skins being canon, I can see this going either way.
Canon: as there have been specialize armor permutations, now there are specialized armor paint schemes to further denote spartans. Just look at current militaries of the world. There are jungle, desert, forest, arctic camo uniforms already.
As for against it being canon, if the skins ONLY appear in Multiplayer (not Spartan Ops), then it could be said that the skins are just a Spartan having fun with the holographic display on their armor while in training on the UNSC Infinity.
Either way, I don’t see a problem with them. I happen to like them. Yes, they’ll likely make targets of those people using them. If you don’t like them, don’t use them. On that note, anyone note wanting to use their Best Buy, Amazon, Microsoft store, Wal*Mart armor skin codes, PLEASE contact me as I want to have them all. I will pay you a fair amount for them.
