Just an intro, I’m a long-time Halo fan. And I played in the Tech-Preview.
Now the thing that is concerning me is that the ammo in the HUD is shown as numbers instead of the traditional visual representation of the bullets.
There were a lot of times where I ran out of ammo without noticing it. While when I have the traditional visual of the bullets, it’s easier to see how much you have left. Even in your perifial vision. And it’s been in all fps Halo games so far.
What do you think of the way that ammo is being displayed?
I hope that 343 redesign the HUD for infinite. Everything bunched up in that one corner is not working. I was throwing grenades too much because i honestly didnt know how to cycle betweeb them. I would love to see the bullets rather than numbers on my HUD

something that sucked in the flight but that apparently will work in the final game is that the option to center the hud like in mcc was completely broken. it just removed your crosshair completely.
I like the HUD, it is simple and clean. Like my desktop. I say this a lot, haha.
The only thing I want them to improve or change is the ammo counter too, classic traditional visual of the bullets styles.
But having a HUD customization options or toggle to different HUD throughout the Halo series. It can be difficult to get it into the game, but if it can be done. It is a win for all of us.
It’d be great if 343 brought back the original HUD and its placement. This new one is inconvenient and generic. Sometimes there just isn’t a need to change things over and over again. Same goes for many other things in the series.
Made a whole post talking about the HUD, differences to older Halo’s and if the changes were good or not. Feel free to check it out.
The tl;dr was: The only Halo’s to have different HUDs were CE, 2, and ODST. The first 2 were learning experiences for Bungie, ODST is the most unique game in the franchise. 343 seemed to settle for Reach’s HUD for 10 years then changed it for… reasons.
