Please advocate for esports everyone, we all would love to see this game reach the height of halo 5, the fact the game didn’t release with ranking system turned away a lot of players from buying the game and even returned it… I think a small sale at the time of ranked release might spark a good amount of players to pick the game back up Js it’s a idea.

They were very smart in withholding the ranking system from the initial release. A permanent ranking system with a -Yoinked!- up game balancing will turn away even more players than no ranking system at all. The ranking system will be released when the game is at least somewhat balanced.
How about we grow the population of the game before asking for esports?
Don’t get me wrong I think Halo Wars esports would be great! But RTS titles aren’t exactly dominating the scene right now

Well, Halo Wars 2 is a VERY casual RTS game…so this game making it to esports is never gonna happen. Especially with the lack of balance at the moment. I think you’re very ignorant since you don’t even provide any real backup that this should be an esports game.

You want turrets and gay -Yoink- also I’m assuming, why don’t you just go build some super units and shoot your own base, you seem like the type.

I mainly played campaign, hardly played online. You automatically assume I’m completely your enemy, you’re already ruining yourself for jumping to conclusions about my playstyle and resorting to insults. Here’s the debate, we Wana win money that isn’t ours, why does their need to be a debate when it’s free money up for grabs between the top teams. Your the one spewing non sense you don’t play competitively. You just wanted to get under my skin. As you said your a campaign player, I’m a guy with 30k games on console between the first halo wars and this one. I don’t need to back up my reasoning I just need yes and no’s. Your obviously a no because you could careless. Why post on something to bring it down, your just a troll. You just said yourself you know nothing about the game your a campaign player. The top players get it that’s all that matters. If 343 did things right in the first place we wouldn’t need a debate. Their should have been way more balance at the start and a ranked system the game was pushed back almost 8months or something and here we are still fixing the game and fighting with casuals over what’s right and wrong how dumb on both ends

They told me the only way we will get esports is if us competitive players get on and shout it out so I’m going to try my best to get the word out, if I gota Duke it out with morons so be it
So I’m a troll because I disagreed with your idea due to the lack of population for Halo Wars 2 and the lack of gameplay depth. This game just doesn’t have that same capability compared to other highly competitive real-time strategy games such as Starcraft 2, Supreme Commander 2, Company of Heroes, Warcraft, ect. This game isn’t optimized for much unit variety at all.
As like I said before as well as other members who have, the lack of population in this game already prevents it from giving it any chance of making it to esports. This was a hyped up game that failed to meet up to a lot of peoples expectations. Just look at the amount of threads talking about the lackluster multiplayer, especially for the ones talking about balance. It took 343i to take this long to finally bring up a large enough patch to help alleviate so many issues now? Over a month? That’s already a bad sign of maintenance. An RTS game in the competitive scene should always have speedy updates for any broken units.
Don’t think that I don’t care about any of these balance changes, they affect offline Skirmish modes as well. I stopped playing them due to the lack of balance in many units.
I have not resorted to any cussing towards you in any of my responses, but yet I managed to easily get under your skin simply because I asked for a debate when you didn’t want to because you’d rather not discuss anything to anyone. I will give you credit for doing this now. But you wanted some simple yes and no answers, yet you insult people that say no. You’re clearly not open to criticism without it causing you to lash out.
You say casuals are ruining this game, which I can understand to some point. But super competitive people that don’t control themselves are what ruin gaming communities. Try not to put yourself into that category.

I could go on and on about how the games doesn’t lack any of the stuff your talking about but it would be a waste of my time, I beat casuals in 5min… I beat good ppl in 10+min the games are much more interesting than what you say, multiple units are used when vs good ppl unlike when I beat casuals will all out jackrabbits. And even sometimes good ppl fall to the early game… I might lack your Grammer and cool facts and awful ideas you could produce but I got my heart and faith in the game and to come across ppl like you spewing about population get me upset, why even make the game if we’re not going to try for even a year one, I know of probably 200 players who have what it takes to try in online qualifiers that would come outa their shell and show you stuff you’ve never seen before. This games not dead this game can be something and it will be something if they bring esports in. Why waste millions making a game to have it flop less than 6months into release. Have a happy St Patrick’s day guy, I mean no real harm to you but theirs way more going on than you understand ATM in the high lvl community. Wow… This post got out of hand real fast.
On the topic of esports, I would love to see this game reach that level of skill. And I could see that happening. It has all the basic ground work for a great RTS pro scene.
However, this game genre is also fairly newish to consoles. Seriously, name more than two… I will admit that HW2 is way more polar than HW1 but until there are more players that want this, and not for money, than it won’t happen. Don’t get me wrong, I want this to happen more than anyone, but you need to look at it realistically. I’m not saying reports will never happen, I am saying give it time, and be vocal without being mean.
There is one thing all you guys don’t get:
how the hell is the game supposed to grow an eSport scene when there are no observer and replay mode?
what you guys should do is stop creating useless threads (this forum is horrible) and ask the debs every day for those modes.
And I am talking about a real observer mode with specialized UI that shows build orders, unit upgrades, resource rates and leader power cool downs for every player.
You guys don’t need to talk for a single second about eSport until this is in the game.

Not a conventional tactic, but it might have a slight chance of working. You could have just admitted it from the first place rather than avoiding any intellectual conversations among others by spewing insults everywhere.
