Why do only the CEA playlists get 85% bloom?
They already have a 3 shot pistol, which makes a 85% bloom DMR obsolete to have.
People have been complaining about bloom since day 1.
343i’s steps towards a title update were very promising, but neglecting the basic playlists like team slayer, btb, arena, doubles, etc… is a huge disappointment.
Reach is more (IS SAID MOAR!) then JUST the classic and anniversary playlists.
Reach deserves to be a good game on its own, without having to leech off of Halo: CE.
I want to play sword base with DMR’s, that shoot where i aim.
I want my pistol to be a good back up weapon in AR-nub-fest games.
Please 343, give us a better bloom system on every playlist, not just the ones that resemble the old Halo.
> I’m still waiting for a zero bloom, no spread 3-shot pistol/DMR in the CEA playlists. Well, admittedly I haven’t been waiting long… but…
85% is about the same amount of spread as previous halo games had. That’s the smallest it should go. Zero bloom is just laser beam accurate. No halo game has ever been like that.
It needs to be all or nothing, across the board. It’s freakin’ stupid and messy how it is now: THREE different rulesets?.. Really?
Either keep it as Bungie intended or bring in 85% Bloom and the AA modifications as proposed by 343i. I can live with either choice as I enjoy both.
But it is imperative that we are rid of all this indecisive nonsense and unnecessary abundance of redundant gameplay mechanics choice. It makes Halo look stupid. It is farcical.
Zero bloom should not even be considered an option. Unless of course you wish to alienate the large player base of fans who don’t eat, drink and breath Halo.
Actually, I don’t recall ever even asking for bloom alterations , let alone those alterations becoming the standard for gameplay.
Frankly: can it and stop thinking you speak for all of us. I personally don’t enjoy the new game mechanics, and I’ll be leaving my Reach disc in the box if the alterations are applied universally. I bought Halo: Reach, not Halo: CE, Halo 2 or Halo 3, and I’d prefer to play Halo: Reach’s multiplayer. If I’d wanted any other gameplay I would have put any of the other titles in the tray.
That being said: I’d be all for those alterations being applied and kept to their own dedicated playlists - that way I can avoid them, and you lot still get to run around with your over-powered cannons of death, thinking that you’re God’s gift to the FPS community. Everybody’s happy.

So full of win and truth.
here’s a little extra for your awesome excerpt. From Franky himself:
""The original Halo CE MP engine is awesome. We get it. We wish we could have done that too, but, it’s very antiquated technology. It was kind of a freebee spinoff of the campaign effort in the first place. It only worked on the system link and didn’t have a networking model as a result. To recreate that experience accurately would have been a tremendous amount of effort, two or three years of grafting on a modern networking model. We had to make a decision and get it done in a timely fashion. And also fundamentally we didn’t want to say to the Reach fans “Oh, we’re going to interrupt your experience and decimate your population and ecosystem because we have a new but old thing.’” - Frank O’Connor
> Do WE really want 85% Bloom on all the Playlists? Or do YOU just want 85% Bloom on all the playlists.

> Attempting to speak for a group of people won’t help your cause.
They don’t care. Most of the Reach haters jumped for joy at the talks of 0 Bloom and Bleed Through only to have them come back and just spam the forums with MORE complaints saying “it wasn’t enough” which obviously translates to “It wasn’t up to MY specifications!”
I don’t think I’d like universal 85% as much if they don’t take another look at the precision weapons balance currently. It feels…off now.
Before I had a nice choice between using the DMR or Needle Rifle, now I just stick to the needle rifle since they decided to make it even more accurate AND kill one shot faster than before.
Also feels like the AR has become even more worthless when I had to rely on it.
They always said to try burst firing and it worked fairly well before, but now it feels utterly useless to do since you have to be full auto in their face to just barely match the new killing speed of the much more accurate and faster headshot weapons, especially up close.
And what does that lead to? More people complaining about pray and spray of course.
NONE of the starter weapons should feel that bad or grossly out-advantage the other, despite whatever opinion you have about any of them. There is a reason Bungie always talked about and tried to further refine the “Golden Triangle” of Halo.
So no, I don’t want 85% or anything else applied fully until some TU stuff is at least looked at again, because it isn’t right yet.

What large player base? oh you mean the current player base that has us at number 8 on live games?..ok
> Name one halo game without bullet spread. You can’t.
Halo CE and Halo 2 had minimal bullet spread, not big -Yoink- random bloom. The CE pistol and H2 BR were laser beam accurate.
I don’t understand how you could be against the better player with better aim being rewarded. Why do you need a random element to level the playing field?

Don’t post in this thread then, people have been asking for bloom fix for a year now, why else would 343 have bothered with a CE pistol and lowered bloom TU play list to begin with?
Reach has so many flaws and bloom is one of them, and because of it all, Reach dropped down to the lowest population ever in a Halo game.
When i say ‘we’ i speak for the people that post in this thread and agree, but hey, thankx for the free bumps.

Speaking of spread did you see that clip from last night? Remember you said he was no shieldhttp://www.bungie.net/Stats/Reach/FileDetails.aspx?fid=24945587&player=weineritis and I emptied the whole pistol clip on him and he did not take any hits. Why they left huge spread on the CEA magnum is beyond me. Such garbage.

the people who say this are those who rely on the “randomness,” and that’s a one way trip to the respawn screen. Players who actually take the bloom into account are the ones who win.

Which is it, “We” or “I?”
No need to answer, it’s “I.” Stop trying to speak for the ENTIRE community…
No reason to push up when you can shoot everything across the map with your starting weapon. Plus bleed-through has some issues still along with a few other glitches, mainly with the health pack.

Sorry, the pistol is random, It has huge spread. we tested it, on my host as well.
