We waited 1 year for this?

Don’t get me wrong, I loved the trailer. It portrayed raw emotion, and humanity. I love chiefs classic armor, and design. But we literally do not know any more about the story, or game play than we did last year. We got a trailer showing off classic armor, and a bit of the planet. This trailer was showing off classic armor, and a new character on a pelican. We have no idea what is going to happen. I get it that the game is more than a year away, but the beta is going to be out in like 7-8 months, shouldnt we have the slightest clue what is going on? This is what got 343 in trouble in the first place, their deceptive marketing campaigns and false advertisements. Personally any hype that we have for this game should be put in check until we see more.

If I’m not wrong, last trailer was on a ring, not a planet.
Nitty picky picking aside.

So, 7-8 months is quite a long wait, why would they need to feed us any information at all? Especially about the story?

And how is this “deceptive / false marketing”? More importantly, how do you know it’s “deceptive / false marketing”?

I think they should keep it at this level of “reveals”.
Give us barely any info at all, just Keep it at “Hey gamers, a new Halo is coming with the Scarlett, look at these renders”.

Actually, what got them in trouble was rushing things and releasing unfinished games (Halo 5), or buggy and broken games (MCC). So let them take their time with this. There’s no reason why we should know more about story or gameplay when it’s a year and a half away from being released.

Yeah I was really hoping for more but I don’t want them to show anything they’re not ready to.

It needed someone to come onstage and talk about the game a bit, or show a trailer of the work behind the scenes, with some environments and vistas in there. It didn’t build on last year’s trailer, which was a missed opportunity.

It literally did not show us anything new, from the year it had to develop. We already knew about the Halo ring. It showed us armor, which we already saw, and it showed us some random pilot.

They were actually facing trial because of false marketing when halo 5 first came out. Because the game was nothing like the ads. They also got in trouble for that though lol. So far 343 is notorious for unfinished games, and false ads

It’s a far cry to say 343 got in “trouble” when you’re presenting or at least insinuating they got in trouble legally, which isn’t the case. They got community backlash and last I heard there was no class action lawsuit made against them.

And I think you forgot something. Halo 5 was made in less time as Halo 2: Anniversary had to be pushed out a year before 5’s release.

Good wine is an aged wine, let it develop. Halo 2’s announcement trailer was made 2 years before the game released… Sounds kinda like … Halo infinite’s announcement trailer was made 2 years before the release date…

Just because the game is a year further along in development doesn’t mean we’re entitled to new information. Would I have preferred to see some gameplay? Yes, but that doesn’t mean this qualifies as false advertising.

What makes you think we’re getting a beta in 7-8 months? I wouldn’t be surprised if we won’t see anything new until e3 2020…

The biggest “new” was the story telling and audio sounds from this trailer. I felt far more for this random pilot than I did for anyone in halo 5.

So apparently humanity lost the war. That’s about all the new info we got

Because they need to have time to improve the game from the bugs the beta is going to have. And they should not have the beta 1 month before the game comes out.

true, we don’t want it like halo 5’s campaign again

So what if we “literally didn’t get anything new”? There are atleast two things ruined by getting more and more new things through marketing. The game feels like a letdown at release because there’s not much to explore and learn because you’ve gotten it beforehand, and, getting a lot of the story makes it feel underwhelming because you know what’s going to happen.

What exactly did you want? I felt more than satisfied by that trailer because it in some plane connected with me. That random pilot felt like it was a shoutout to older fans, I have two kids, and I’ve lived through the moments the holo-recording protrayed to us, and I could feel his pain, missing his wife, missing those moments with his kids. Then the discovery of MC, getting him up and running. It felt, so symbolic.

And as I asked, how is what they’re currently doing, false / misleading???

We will probably get more information about Halo Infinite today at Inside Xbox.
Official Video on the Xbox YT Channel, H:Infinite is also featured: Inside Xbox - E3 Special Trailer

I’m totally agree with you OP 1 year for this is a huge scandal right now. I realy hope new info today

Thank you bro with this info you save my day

I have no issue with this trailer. It told me that the game is still 18 months away and showed off some more of the art direction they’re going for. What more do I need right now?

How many games, even in beloved franchises, release a ton of information a year and a half before launch? Very, very few. And those that do tend to wind up being disappointments because they couldn’t live up to endless cycle of marketing.

Honestly, as much as I love Halo, knowing that we’re still this far out allows me to simply forget about Infinity for the time being. I can focus on the MCC PC release for my Halo fix, plus I’ve got tons of other stuff I can play in the meantime.

During the trailer it said how more would be talked about it (I think, today). The focus on that Sunday E3 briefing was on all of the things happening at Xbox, not just Halo.
