We, Spartans, need to promote Halo 4

(Alert: a somewhat long post)

Guys, the last weeks I have seen an interesting pattern, first you get very excited for something and then start complaining about it the next day, is very cool that all of us are giving our feedback, our opinion, I’m sure that all of us (except trolls) do and post all of this because they want to have Halo back, to have an epic Halo, and don’t pass for another disappointment like with Halo Reach, we are living the contrary effect on Halo 4 than in Halo Reach, in Reach we started with almost all excited, with a few pointing the things that in the long run, was going to be the catalyzer the fall of Reach; I’ll not discuss the issues, but even if you loved Halo Reach, you have to admit that it has his issues.

We came here, to discuss all the stuff that we know about Halo 4, giving our personal perspective of how it could benefit/affect the game, some do pretty good points, and valid reason, that makes you hope 343i will read it.

In general we’re all here, because we share our love to Halo, we enjoy Halo, and I can say most of us are nostalgic for have back the previous gold and glorious day of Halo, because it seems that after the Chief went cryo, all the community go slowly, in a cryogenic sleep. Slowly, between ODST and Reach, we started to loss Spartans brothers that went to other games, most of us hoped Reach, will be the call back to our lost brothers Spartans, and it was, the first month.

Afterwards… well, I can say Halo 3 had a more slowly decrease in population, that the somewhat fast fall of Reach, in comparison. Of course, the population of Reach isn’t to laugh of compared with other games, but it is, for a Halo game.

Multiple factors lead to the actual situation, when all of us, Spartans, are dispersed across different games, expecting, waiting, and hoping of Halo 4 is the glorious return of the king, alongside Master Chief, expecting that this new title, will be the new blood and push, that Halo needed to go back to the top of the charts.

And that will not be achieved, if we just dedicate to degrade the amazing job 343i is doing, with a close mind to every new thing and change that 343i is doing, yes, they may have said some things that are worthy a discussion, but the information we have right now isn’t enough to judge the game. A big portion of the information we have is by second-hand, we have yet to see more information, explaining the things that you/we are more concerning about, and even more, we have yet to play the game, the final game.

What should we be doing, if what we, in the fond want, is to Halo 4 to be successful and amazing, a proper title of the returning of the Master Chief?

Start doing more objective topics, with more valid points, and thinking about what isn’t the best for only you buy the community as a whole, for Halo itself. Be critical, not giving only compliments and cheering everything, trying to give a constructive point of view, do constructive criticism.

That is one of the things we should do here in Waypoint.

In other hand, we have to start promoting the game between our friends, trying to bring back at least 5 lost friends back to Halo. Isn’t too hard. You have to start with why he will not buy Halo 4, he may said something like “I didn’t liked Halo Reach” or “Halo is dead”

You can then said that isn’t like Reach, and is more like –the halo your friend liked more H2 or H3- asking him what were his biggest problem with Reach, and hopefully, it will be things like Armor Lock, bad maps, and a somewhat boring campaign, and things that have changed for Halo 4.

You can tell him about the campaign, how incredible is looking so far, with pretty good graphics, with new enemies and some of our old enemies, with a campaign that look way more funnier than Halo Reach, and is looking to be better than Halo 3 (that is actually, not that hard).

If that isn’t enough you can start with multiplayer, ten unique good maps, complete designed for multiplayer, none from campaign, with new game modes, more faster, with the return of the BR, without Amor Lock, and if you friend like vehicles, with tougher vehicles, new gametypes, and a multiplayer that looks way more fun and epic than Reach, at least as good as Halo 3, and that for what some people said, rivaling with Halo 2.

Then start putting more things in the roaster adding in the conversation, Spartans Ops, explaining how is practically another campaign, with one episode with 5 missions every week, by 10 weeks. 10 weeks of free, epic content. With forge tweaked in a way that custom will not being filled with grey and boring maps, but by actually good looking maps.

If he isn’t all that convinced in this point, that will be because he have wrong information of the game, so you can ask him why he didn’t like Halo 4. He could say, “because now is like CoD”, here you can ask him why he think so, here is the most important point, break the prejudice of people claiming Halo 4 is like CoD.

Pointing out the difference between CoD and Halo, perhaps you will have to explain the ordnance, the tactical upgrades, score, and things that looks like CoD, but works and are different that CoD, and in the end, it feel like Halo, much more like Halo than Reach.

What will you gain? If helping bring back the gold days of Halo isn’t enough. You will warrant that you will have many friends with who to play Halo at least the first month, enough to see, if Halo 4 is way better than Reach, and keep playing it, or (very unlikely) be again in a Reach like situation…

We Spartans, need to promote Halo 4.

We have to wake up…
We have long waited for this day.
The return of Halo.
And the back of Chief.

A new Journey should begin.

(<mark>Thanks for reading</mark>, keep it clean)

TL;DR

But i have an idea lets all head over to 405th get some spartan armor and promote halo 4 like that/

Good post, OP. Prepare for flaming.

See, the thing is, most people on these forums don’t care about THE Halo.

They don’t care about Bungie’s Halo or 343i’s Halo, they only care about THEIR Halo.

-Yoink- forbid we actually listen to someone else’s ideas. -Yoink- forbid we try new things. -Yoink- forbid we actually respect our fellow posters. -Yoink- forbid we come up with a smart idea.

I applaud you, OP. But this kind of post does nothing.

I’m guessing you said “God forbid”…they seriously sensor THAT?

OT: I see what you mean OP, although I still think Reach has been the greatest Halo so far
