We should be more positive

  • Halo 5 isn’t such a bad game**,** just sit down and look and look closely at a lot of the things in Halo 5 that make this game a lot better than a lot of shooters today.First off I do want to classify that I don’t think Halo 5 is a good Halo game, but a good game on it’s own.

  • How many first person shooters that are mainly dedicated to multiplayer do you see with a campaign like Halo 5’s? I know the story was sloppily written and had nothing to do with the marketing, but the campaign has some gorgeous missions (mainly the Sanghelios missions) and replayability.and overall it was Fun. It didn’t feel like Halo to me, but it was really fun.

  • FORGE is just so amazing in Halo 5, you can now literally remake any map and make it look like it too, maybe even better. There are so many talented forgers that can really express and show what kind of map they’re making, whether it’s an urban map, a covenant map, or just a natural map. Being able to change skyboxes, the time of day, the filters, placing down signs, placing cars/vans, and you’re able to place so many props and pieces that make maps look so much more detailed, all of this just simply amazing.
My absolute favorite is being able to change the colors of blocks, props, toys, etc. because you can make a map look anyway you want it to, you can make covenant maps, rainbow maps, or just gray maps. It just makes it all better.
I just wanna thank all the guys who worked (and still are working) very hard on the Forge mode in Halo 5, I never imagined it being this good.
They obviously put countless time and effort into this game’s forge mode.

There’s been so much negativity in the Forums lately (pretty guilty myself) so I just wanted to be positive and post this. The teams at 343 don’t get enough positive attention.

Forge is one of the only good features in my opinion. Sure, it’s really complicated at first, and the control scheme is a little awkward, but once you get the hang of it. it’s quite fun building to your hearts content. Although the map sizes aren’t what I expected: Halo Reach’s Forge World and even Halo 4’s terrible (the lack of terrain made my eyes hurt) Forge Islands had such massive sandboxes to work with.

Another problem is when you suddenly might lose connection to the servers. “Save every ten minutes or twenty” is a common answer. But at times, you might become so engrossed that you lose track and forget to save the map and- disconnected.

Apart from that, I enjoy Forge quite a bit. Still learning how to make a good map - I ain’t too creative - and how to couple props together so if you destroy the explosive canister the rest will collapse, so you can recreate things such as Rainbow Six Siege (which I’ve seen a video of and it’s AMAZING).

343 does deserve credit for forge at the very least, even though it was released late, with bugs, and missing some items that were in older games. There are a lot of great things that have come out of it.

I agree, and the more I replay the campaign the more I enjoy it.
