It just occurred to me that in the video tutorial and blog by Josh, there’s been no word regarding trading cards with friends. Yeah sure, we can trade them in for REQ points, but that’s not exactly the same.
While I can understand that permanent cards should not be tradable since you only ever get one of them, but the various cards like vehicles and weapons should be tradable. Considering that the REQ system was influenced by card games like Magic and Hearthstone, I thought that trading would make sense since so many card players trade their cards with their friends. I remember trading my OG Slyfer the Sky Dragon for a Blue Eyes Ultimate Dragon back in the day of yugioh as an example. I also remember doing a lot of trades back in the days of Pokemon cards. I never actually played a game of the TCG, I just loved collecting the cards.
But in Halo there are some cards I dont care too much for but my friends might. And vice versa. I specifically have no interest in the sniper rifle, I’ve always been close-quarters, while one of my friends is our group’s Linda. As in he loves sniping and does the best at sniping of the group. But he doesnt care for shotguns, I love shotguns. So if I had Linda’s Sniper and he had Kelly’s shotgun, wouldn’t it make sense for us to want to be able trade with eachother rather than trade them in and hope we get the cards that we were already willing to trade?

I distinctly recall that being a point Bungie made regarding trading weapons with friends in Destiny. With the engrams and whatnot. But they later made an update to allow trading because of popular demand.
I totally understand what they’re trying to achieve with this, but just liek card games, if there’s a legendary card among dozens that I want and cant seem to find and my friend has it or two already but doesn’t want to use it/them, why shouldn’t he be able to give one to me? Or vice versa.

Then why not add the ability to trade req packs? Scammers won’t be a serious problem since there’s a 60 dollar barrier to entry per account not to mention the game itself.

Why would anyone trade packs with eachother? There would be no point in trading your random 6 cards for someone elses random 6 cards. It’s a redundant transaction. The only people who would trade packs are people selling them for real money via paypal. Which MS isn’t going to allow because they would be undercut.

We don’t necessaraly need to be able to trade the req packs but if we could trade armor weapons and weapon skins with friends that have the same value items in there posesions that would be great.
I think it would work fine, if and only if you were only able to trade cards you already have the commendation for, so per example if I have a couple extra snipers and want a couple launchers and my friend wants some snipers, as long as we both already have the commendation we could trade
at least make it so that you can gift cards to friends or fireteam members. just in game only. so that the guy who is doing great with tanks, actually can get tanks if he runs out. someone can be lvl 14 and be a badass tankdriver but well, usually lvl14 dont tend to have them. while i have around 50 but i suck with them… so it would make sense to gift a few to him right. so he can cover my -Yoink- when i call in a banshee.
The REQ system pretty much exists to just have such a sheer amount of cards that you just feel dead inside after grinding so hard to get decent armor that you eventually (hopefully) just buy REQ’s. letting people have what they want would defeat the purpose of the REQ system, again, money.
