I will get straight to the point rather than a introduction.
Too Many Mantis’s, on some maps they should be replaced with the Scorpion and Wraith because it will keep things interesting and for gameplay reasons. The biggest problem is that once one team gets BOTH Mantis’s on the map, the other team is basically screwed unless they are already far ahead. Especially if the team with the Mantis’s is just preventing everyone from leaving the base. Is the Scorpion and Wraith useless or uninteresting compared to a Mech?
SAW changes, the SAW is the most OP weapon in the game, it requires nearly no skill at all to use and effectively DESTROYS all the other weapons in the game except a point blank shotgun shot or a sniper round at long range. It basically at least renders all the loadout weapons obselete. To make matters worse it is stupidly common on BTB maps, and I am often killed at least once by a SAW on every BTB map. It either needs removing from some of these maps, be nerfed or at the very least given less ammo or a longer timer.
As for the ‘+1’ part, we could really do with a normal non-DLC playlist for Team slayer, does 343 realise how many people are playing what should be Halos premier gamemode now they forced DLC to be required? Even SWAT, Ricochet and CTF have higher populations now.

I agree. There are too many Mantis’s on certain maps like Ragnarok. And it becomes unfair when one team gets both their Matnis, and the other teams Mantis. In my opinion, ther should only be one Mantis on each map.

I disagree. The SAW is not that OP. If a player is skilled enough, they can take out somebody using the SAW by using a BR or any other long range weapon.
I agree about the Mantis being over used. There should be some variety of vehicles in BTB and only restricting the Scorpion to 1 map is insane (not to mention its on a map that barely has any long sight lines for it, making it lack its full potential).
But the SAW isn’t OP. It may have a fairly high damage rate, but it eats bullets quicker that other weapons. And I’ve taken out a SAW user with the BR and AR. Strafing is the key, avoid getting hit.

As long as you are at long range.
At mid-range to short, it offers no draw backs, unlike Rockets in which you have to be careful of splash damage, or the Sword in which you have to get really close, the Saw currently has little to no drawbacks, taking the skill out of the weapon.
It’s just point and shoot, and in my opinion- OP.
I believe they should either decrease the aim assist or nerf the rate of fire to stop it from killing so fast, this at least gives players with skill a chance.
First off, if you let the other team get your most powerful vehicle, you deserve to get destroyed for a few minutes. That’s basic, basic Halo 101 stuff. C’mon. Always protect your most valuable asset. Plus, you can spawn with stickies and plasma pistols, unlike other Halo games.
Second, the SAW is super powerful. No doubt about it. That’s why is a Power Weapon. It’s not like you’re spawning with the thing. I don’t have too hard of a time mid-range, and if you have any other Power Weapon, you can handle it pretty quickly, even at close range assuming you have a close-range Power Weapon. But it’s supposed to destroy other assault rifles that you can spawn with… that’s the whole point.
The Mantis can be bothersome at times, especially when the enemy team controls both. I do agree with OP about the mantis in every BTB map, I would suggest to change it up by substituting the mantis with a scorpion or a wraith based on the map layout just to keep the game fresh. The SAW on the other hand… I freakin love it!1! Now of course one would get pissed if they got mowed down by the power weapon, so to an extent…meh. Anywho, The SAW is fine the way it is. Most people who want the SAW nerfed are BR spammers anyways, sorry but I don’t want to play; Battle Rifle > any other weapon.
The mantis is fine on maps such as meltdown since it doesn’t break the map however on ragnarok it’s so overpowered it not even funny. It’s especially bad in CTF.
Or what we could do is actually have BTB maps that aren’t all just close quarters and tight spaces. If you compare Halo 3 BTB with 4’s version, 4’s BTB sucks. All the maps are tiny. You can’t even drive a tank in most of them without scraping a wall or getting stuck on the terrain.
Look at Sandtrap in Halo 3. A massive map that can fit two mobile bases (many more if modded), numerous tanks, a huge amount of light land vehicles, all while being able to support a full dogfight in the air.
Now look at any BTB map in 4. I’ll take Exile for right this. Half of the map is close quarters (the hallways on either side of the map, the center of the map, the entire right side of the map (if looking at red base from blue base), the only long range encounters that happen on that map are by the Mantis spawn point and even then it’s extremely limited. Which the Mantis is a horrible addition to Halo 4 anyway.
So that is my main problem with BTB in Halo 4. It’s so miniscule in comparison to CE, 2, 3, and Reach. I do agree with your opinion on the Mantis situation but I’ve never had a problem with the SAW. That is until 343 gives it a massive buff “to compensate for lag” like they did with the BR.
tbf to 343 the amount of SPLasers that spawn on Exile & Ragnarok cancels out the Mantis’ being over powered not to mention the rocket hogs on those maps. As for Vortex the Gauss hog can take care of a Mantis in no time from distance not to mention all the tunnels & cover for people to hide in then plasma/stickie it!
As for the Scorpion on LongBow I love it there it takes some skill to move that thing about on that map & have a line of sight for firing the cannon! I do think the Wraith & Scorpion should be on more maps, in fact is the Wraith on any map now Dominion has gone?
I use to love the Wraith on Vortex & the Scorpion on Exile in BTIS!
As for the SAW well I have gone head to head with a SAW user many times while I have had the turret & lost everytime!
Why did they buff the hog & Mantis turret but not the stationary 1 that was just stupid!
I do think the SW is overpowered & I will never select it in ordnance drops as I think hmmm if I die then the enemy will pick this up & mow down how many teammates!
tbf I do normally select damage boost, overshield or speed boost in ordnance, hell I will even take some new nades over the SAW!
Agreed re: Mantis. It’s a ton of fun, but the lack of Scorpions and, especially, Wraiths is mind-boggling.
As for the SAW, it’s offers no drawbacks at close/mid range. But it’s fun. Fun as heck. Sometimes you just want a weapon to be fun and not hyper-competitively balanced like so many around here constantly strive for.
My biggest requested changes to BTB are: more forge maps (the on disc maps just aren’t that great) and bring back a big team objective playlist so I’m stuck playing big team CTF all the time.
I feel the saw us perfectly balanced and needs no tweeking.
Btb needs a heavies varient. 343 wanted to follow in bungies footsteps they shoukd have stuck right off the bat what works in halo and what playlists needs to b active.
I really like halo 4 but I miss how good bungie was at setting things up good…,
