We Need to Talk.. - My biggest Problem with Halo 5

Before I begin my explanation into my problem with Halo 5, let me give a little prologue into the event of me first discovering the problem. If you choose not to read the story, go ahead and click the spoilers below to see my problem.

Still here? Cool, thanks. So, I went into Halo 5 nearly blind. By nearly, I mean that I hadn’t looked up anything pertaining to Halo 5’s campaign and a majority of the multiplayer. I had, however, watched a match war zone and customized my Spartan’s armor with armor that I received around the time of the Beta and what not.
One thing I did not do in regards to customizing my Spartan was mess with my Emblem. I honestly don’t remember why, but I do remember thinking that I couldn’t wait to use my traditional Bear Claw Emblem. I’ve used that emblem in every Halo game I’ve ever played. Fast forward >>> to Halo 5’s launch. I’m relaxing in front of my tv, I launch the game, I relaunch the game (game wouldn’t load properly cause I opened it during a downloading sequence or something), I click start and get use to the new interface and what not. The next thing I do (of course) is start checking out my spartan and my emblem collection, I then realized that I had to unlock Emblems through REQs. Okay, whatever, no biggy, I can live with that. So, I decided to scroll through the game’s emblems to find my beloved Bear Claw to see it once more… then it hit me hard.

The Bear Claw Emblem isn’t in the game.

I instantly swore out loud to my party member in party chat. “They don’t have it…”
I don’t understand why they would take out the Bear Claw emblem… OUT OF ALL EMBLEMS.
What did the Bear Claw do? What was the Bear Claw doing? Why was it thought to have done so?!?!?!?
I rarely saw the Bear Claw Emblem on other player’s spartans, but would it REALLY be taken out of the game for gathering dust?

I enjoy everything about this game, so far. I haven’t played Arena yet because Warzone is addicting. The campaign is relatively easy, yes, but that isn’t always a bad thing (atleast in my opinion). The story could have been a bit more, yea, but it’s also in the middle of a Saga and working it’s way towards a greater point in a plot.

That all being said, I hope you can understand where the true problem in Halo 5 is. The lack of the Bear Claw Emblem.

Did you traditionally use an emblem before Halo 5? If so, were you disappointed to see it not be in Halo 5’s collection?

My biggest problem with the game is the Req system.

I think it is justified in this manner, I also think it is a lot less serious than a lot of the posts circulating around here and it’s just a harmless post complaining about the lack of emblems. I don’t blame the man either losing something that he has been able to use in most of the previous games and I think he is just raising a point here so no need to be so critical.

Right. I wasn’t trying to be as seriously butt hurt about something as small as an emblem not making it through. And yes, there are plenty of others I plan on using, such as the Noble emblem. :wink:

It could be an emblem for a commendation now, since those are given when you hit rank 5.

I’m pretty sure that you can see all of the Commendation related emblems in the emblem collections - locked or unlocked. :confused:

They added enough cool new emblems to make taking a couple out not important.

I, too, have a special emblem that I miss dearly. My spider emblem was wrongfully taken from me.

I WANT IT BACK!!!

It made me feel like the relationship that we have for halo is not on the same level as it is for the both of us

You know, I’ve been playing since 2 and I’ve never really found an emblem I actually like :-/

I feel indifferent about this. I think the emblems are much cooler now.
