Lately I’ve been seeing something great on this site, real constructive criticism. The problem with 343 IMO is that they’re not interacting with places like these forums. Why? Because of you lot.
I have seen countless examples of ‘343 have ruined halo’, ‘343 just want to make the game garbage for the sake of it’ and ‘343 don’t know what’s good for halo’ near the games release and continuing up until this day. But there have been a few gems. It brings me great joy to see well thought out and constructive posts being made on this forum which properly address problems and suggest solutions. What doesn’t bring me joy is the half–Yoinked!- comments that always follow.
‘Nerf it’ is not a solution, I would suggest trying to tweak a weapon sandbox before saying things as idiotic as this.
The point i’m making is this: If we want 343 to actively respond to these forums we need to stop insulting them on every thread even slightly related to problems in the game. I have posted threads about favourite maps and received complaints about how none of the maps are good because ‘343 wanted them to be bad’.
What annoys me more is when over-zealous examples of my complaint attempt to tell everyone that they are posting constructive criticism and then gain superb english skills and thoroughly debunk any ideals I may have never mentioned in the first place. This is NOT constructive critism, this is baiting.
Thank you to those who are responding to 343 with politeness and support. They may not have made a great game, but they are bloody keen to fix it. Give them a chance.
Agreed. If we want them to treat us like a legitimate source of feedback, we have to first act like it.
You know, another thing about giving constructive feedback is, if you do it, you tend to increase your ability to think analytically. You don’t like something. OK, why don’t you like it. In this way, giving constructive feedback also helps you grow creatively.
I made a post about this the other day, though I was a bit rude and hypocritical in it, so I made myself look like a fool lol. I agree with everything you said!

> It’s a win-win, really.
Madman you put it better than I could with a whole OP in one sentence, I don’t understand how this forum can expect 343 to treat us like adults when we act like children.
We all, myself included, need to stop appropriating the voice of 8 million people that bought Halo 4, and state the constructive things that 343i can do for Halo 5.
I don’t want to hear “we”. I want to listen to opinions using “I”.
I say that because too many are coopting the voice of others, assuming that their opinion is what of “the community”.
If you want in-game CSR then state the reasons how a modified system can be implemented. Please bare in mind and process 343i reasons for not putting it in Halo 4 and work towards a synthesis. Please don’t refer to infographics and population charts as validation that your opinion is Fact, and everyone else is living in a dream world.
I think that if we represent only ourselves we can make this forum a better place.
Tell 343i the things that YOU don’t like. Don’t assume that what you like or dislike is what the everyone else enjoys.
> I take it you haven’t seen his thread? To recite it would be a waste of time, I know he agrees with me and put it into more words than me.
>
> Besides, don’t you think your replies are exactly what I’m talking about here?
>
> EDIT: This is for Ramir3z77 and Prince Zexu
Actually Promethean, Ramir3z77 and I are actually people who advocate this a lot. In fact we constantly give constructive feed back. Go check out the thread on map ordnances right now.
Every so often we like making a funny one liner quip. I believe I speak for both of us when we say we agree with the idea of the community working together and giving constructive feedback, even if we all don’t agree with each other.
I’m surprised you still have hope in these forums! Even though I wished to see more constructive criticism here, I was still doubtful that people would actually change. You have given me hope! With good members like you, and all of the other great people who actually post constructive feedback, I’m sure we can change these forums for the better.

I detest people like you. It’s a forum. People rant.
Oh and, are you such a -Yoinking!- -Yoink- that you think your “constructive criticism” is going to be directly listened to? All they need are complaints, so they know what’s broken, and then can see about fixing them. I for one do NOT want this forum designing a game.

There are those who complain, those who provide constructive feedback, and then there are people like you.

I detest people like YOU. Wow what side of the bed did you wake up on? Are you serious? Your just attacking someone that correctly believes we should be treating the developers with more respect and politeness for a game that has been made to be enjoyed?
You don’t even deserve to be replied to.
The developers are PEOPLE and they put years of hard work into a game they tried to make as good as possible for us and you want to spit in their face constantly and rub their face in the games faults that they probably already know up and down?
