We need to make a point.

Halo 5 is an enjoyable game, to some extent. The Halo franchise as a whole however, is much more than just enjoyable. Since Halo Combat Evolved the fps genre had been changed completely, and since Halo 2 the competitive multiplayer and co-op campaign bar has been set much higher, and the overall experience has greatly improved. Did I say since Halo 2? I meant from Halo 2 up until Halo 4. After Bungie left Halo and began working on Destiny, Microsoft created a subdivision of new workers and people who worked on Halo with Bungie called 343. The Halo franchise after Halo Reach declined quickly in popularity with old fans of the prior games (much like myself) after the Call of Duty like “Halo 4” and the barely functioning “Master Chief Collection” so hopes for Halo 5 were low, but still there. Okay. I’m done rambling. They took a dump on all of those hopes and I’ve had enough. Soon I’m buying an Xbox 360 and a copy of Halo 3 with the map pack expansion, and I invite you to join me. My goal is to get enough people to stop playing Halo 5 and to get Halo 3’s servers busy enough to be noticed. If we stop playing their bad games, and start giving attention to the classics once again they will know what we want. Change is a welcome thing, every Halo since CE has proved that much, but 343 took change too far. We need to make a point. Play Halo 3 again. Make them notice us.

Again, someone just posted something very similar to you here in General Discussion, but it ain’t gonna happen. People aren’t going to dust off their 360s (many sold them when getting an Xbox One or for the MCC) just to play a game that’s almost 10 years old. As someone who played a massive amount of Halo 3, I like the spirit of the idea, but not the practicality behind it. You’re better off trying for Reach.

It’s like telling people that own Madden 16 that you should stop playing it because Madden 07 is better. Madden 07 might legitimately be a better game, but you won’t get enough traction to have a meaningful amount of people switch.

To be honest, at this point Halo is screwed no matter what (and I’m worried that Gears of War is too because Microsoft is doing the same to it) and somebody needs to at least try to do something about it.

The only way you can talk is with your dollars. Don’t preorder games you don’t believe in, and don’t buy into games you don’t believe in. That’s the only way these companies will listen.

I’m hoping that the huge number of canceled pre orders when they announced the lack of split screen will help.

This is the only way to really effect a company like MS.

I personally enjoy Halo 5 and will buy Halo 6. But if enough people in the community don’t buy or pre-order Halo 6 then MS will be forced to listen to the majority of the community.

The issue with this method is that IMO people enjoy complaining but will still buy a new Halo game anyway. Talk is cheap after all.

I intend to continue complaining until something is done. I’m going to wait a while and if the game actually is good then I’ll buy it. If it’s not I’m probably just playing Overwatch or something.

Watch, now everyone is gonna cancel pre orders and stuff and Microsoft will get rid of 343 and shut down the Halo servers like they did with fable.

Maybe then somebody would get another new idea of a shooter, like Halo did when it first came out, and replace the Call of Halo crap we’re getting today. Also, the original two fables were great.

Buddy, I’ll give you my 360 and my copy of Halo 3. It’s yours. You don’t have to buy anything.

Halo MCC works fine now. The only reason it’s slow is because no one plays it. It’s nothing like what it was at first.

It was impossible for me to get it and in 2012 they gave it away for free and I was mad.

Another one? This is getting repetitive and boring.

What’s everyone’s favorite color?

Halo 3 does turn 10 next year, would be good time for an anniversary.
