Anyone who wants their favorite armor has to either A. Grind for weeks or even months (and even then it is still up to RNG), or B. Dump hundreds of dollars worth of cash into the garbage REQ system. I just want to wear Mark IV, but in order to do that I have to sift through hundreds of other ugly armors for days to find the gold nugget. Cosmetics should really be attainable via credits (Reach) or by completing challenges, achievements, etc.
I did some math to figure out how long I’d need to play Warzone to get through buying only silver packs and it is currently in at around 5 days total of solely playing Warzone. I currently have 9 days logged into this game as a whole. Nope. Such Destiny, much grind.
A boost in reqs per match sounds good to me. I really like unlocking armor and I think 2 wins to equal 5000rp would be a lot more friendly to the casual gamer such as myself. I’m married and run two small businesses, I doubt I’ll unlock the locus armor.
TBH they should have my idea which is this
uncommon= 500 points
common= 300 points
rare= 2000 points
ultra rare= 5000 points
legendary= 10000 points
instead of having bronze silver and gold the type of rareity (spelling sorry) would be perfect and also letting you choose what type of piece you want
Well I don’t have anything particularly insightful here, but you do understand the concept of “grinding”? Its sort of a draw for a lot of players, and despite all our moaning about the system we happily line up and fork our money over for the dubious pleasure of staring at the screen for hundreds of hours to get that one armor set. Honestly you have to wonder who’s dumber here, the developer for making such a stupid system, or us for coming back time after time. “Please, take my money” has been a familiar refrain now for years, often before the game is even released or we even know more about it than the title.
Personally I’ve come to not care so much, I played games for years without any concept of unlocks or rewards, except the satisfaction of beating the game. Its only in recent years, and I think the COD mentality, that devs are putting in these systems to keep the masses coming back. I simply find I enjoy the game more if I treat the REQs and other similar things in other games as a secondary thing. Kind of like the dessert after a really good steak dinner.
Also FYI you can report guys like the above for making unconstructive or spam posts, he’s just being a -Yoink-.

He’s talking about a permanent boost, and when you get to higher levels and are buying gold packs you get very few of those, at least I do. I got a ton of boosts in Bronze packs, a fair few in Silver, but only one or two per pack in Gold, so you have way more games without a boost than with.

That’s an entirely different kind of patience. Earning Recon in Halo 3 was very time consuming for me, but I had the patience for that, because it was earned with a challenge. People love challenges.
Well even if it used the reach system, you would have to grind XP and RP to reach the level. For example, I grinder to Noble to get the Gungnir attachment, which took like 20 days playtime. RNG or not, the ‘cool’ armours will be hard to get.
HOWEVER
Even the armours that are not legendary, but look good (noble for example) are hard to get because of RNG. I’ve seen people SR 20 and below with it. Here I am SR 60, I have quite a few rare armour, but they are mostly ugly or skins of ugly armour. That’s the problem, the RNG is purposely bloated with trash items in a cheap attempt to make it harder to get the ‘good’ stuff. So in short, yes I preferred the reach system, however it felt too long at times, so IMO, Halo 5, should give a REQ pack every ten levels, with a guaranteed unlock of a certain armour. E.g lvl 10 Athlon. Lvl 20 Recon lvl 30 Viper lvl 40 Scout lvl 50 Security etc etc. And then have the RNG system with that. So then ranks have some purpose in the unlocks. And if you already unlocked said armour at said rank, then you get 1 random uncommon to rare permanent unlock.

I agree. At least in Reach you knew you were going to get what you grinded for.

Reach had it right, and grinding is easy and fun. At my worst in reach I can get 1000-2000 credit just for playing mm, not even including challenges which is nice. In halo 5 at my worst I get 900 Rp, and at my best I get 1000-1400, that really sucks when I have to grind because it’s uber repetitive and there is to much risk for random reward.
