Make it so that you can drop ranks on losses
Right now the most painful thing in this broken system is being shoehorned into a playlist at a rank you clearly don’t belong because you do well against the diaper babies that populate your placement matches. This is the most jank -Yoink- excuse for a rip off of the league system ve ever seen. I actually really like that type of ranking system when it’s implemented well but this really isnt implemented well at all.
Leads to nothing but frustrating experiences against opponents who regularly dumpster you with nary a thing you can do about it.
Yes you get better by playing against tough opponents but it feels like Little league vs mlb every time I queue for FFA because I’m a mid gold player at best stuck in the game with diamonds and onyx players

I think the problem most of the time is lone players on one team vs a clan on the other team . In response to your point, does the ranking system just take into account wins, for your placement? Or does it consider K/D, amount of kills, accuracy etc too?

With FFA, you always seem to end up with Onyx players no matter what rank you are. A lack of players in the FFA playlist I would imagine

If it’s anything like the league system it’s based off of, no. Win loss is the only thng factored

Then it’s daft. A player who wins 7 of his placement matches off the back of his team mates should not get a high rank
I do understand the frustration.
Personally i like it the way it is.
It would suck so much if i where to get to onyx and rank down again.
I got ranked onyx in FFA some months ago but in the april season i
ranked platinum. So for me at least, the system works.
They could make the option to choose downranking, but then we would end up with “smurfs” all over the place.
Matchmaking is skill based, then what the -Yoink- is the point of ranks then if the matchmaking is skill based?
I’m diamond 3 in the FFA playlist and I play against Onyx. I want to play against players that have the same rank I have.
Matchmaking should be rank based, that’s all I have to say.
