I know this is the halo 3 trailer but is still relevant. We need to believe that John is still doing the right thing in Halo 5

Na. Chief is fighting a greater threat. ONI doesn’t understand it or isn’t aware of it, Locke is just a soldier doing what he’s ordered to do. But Locke and Chief will end up working together in the end to “save the world” once Locke also realizes what’s happening. (or perhaps they’ll take down a corrupt ONI)…either way…pretty standard story…and I figuratively bet you money this is essentially what will happen. At least that’s my guess.
I always believe in the Chief. He knows what he’s doing.
Which reminds me - What happened to the Brutes?
Chief is doing the right thing his only concern is to preserve the human race and to fight until he cannot any longer. Locke is only a puppet of ONI and so is his team. I have a feeling that Locke will see what Chief is doing and will have a change of heart realizing that Chief is doing the right thing (only speculation).

I would like to know what happened to them as well. I haven’t read all the books yet so maybe it is revealed in those.
