I have a weekly challenge to play slayer and for the past 3 hours I have got nothing but control and capture the flag. One of the biggest problems with these battle pass challenges and the reason people keep quitting their games is because we can’t pick what we actually want to play.
I swear game modes are based on what challenges you don’t have. Need Zone matches and all I get is Slayer and CTF
That’s exactly what I’ve been saying and questioning. It makes zero sense whatsoever that a company which came to understand the value of implementing such a system in the MCC didn’t understand that a Match Composer system is the most common sense method to provide the player base access to what they want when they want. It’s beyond disappointing and inexplicable that it wasn’t part of the initial design process for Infinite’s matchmaking given their experience with it in the MCC.
I wonder if it was an issue regarding how to incorporate a Match Composer that’s paired with TrueSkill2 and TrueMatch which I hope to god are implemented into Infinite? It sure would be great if there was an Engagement Lead who could discuss such complexities and details with the community including the reasons behind particular decisions. I still don’t understand why there hasn’t been anyone assigned to fill the shoes of Josh Menke.
Really it’s a shame that these modes weren’t available at release within a Match Composer matchmaker in order to allow people to play what they want when they want:
Social Arena:
- Slayer
- CTF
- Strongholds
- Oddball
- KotH
- Fiesta
- Multi-Team or Triple Team
- Infection
Ranked:
- HCS Arena
- HCS Solo/Duals
- SWAT
- Snips
- Squad Battle
- Doubles
- FFA
BTB:
- Slayer
- CTF
- Total Control
- Assault (Neutral Bomb)
Then work to give us an Action Sack mode within the Social Arena environment as soon as possible. Plus, eventually release new modes like multiple Firefight modes, Extraction, Regicide, Ricochet, Grifball, Extermination/Elimination, and a Conversion or Invasion mode.
Those issues of not getting the game modes you need in order to clear a challenge seem so prevalent that I can’t help thinking that’s a deliberate design choice made in order to keep you playing for longer than you would want due to FOMO about the challenges. Letting us choose playlists would defeat the purpose.
Even Sk7tch mentioned having to play 20+ matches in order to get Oddball.
Play quickplay, odds of slayer are much higher than BTB.
