This is why we need a system in Halo 4 that matches players against opponents of similar skill. I think I speak for everyone that is new at playing Halo that it is highly unfair and not fun getting matched with players that are a higher skill level.
There is absolutely no reason how we could get matched up with low level players with guests. It makes it very unenjoyable for new players.
What are all of your thoughts about this situation?
I just think it can easily be done by making TruSkill a more strict system. I could say I’d like a Skill based ranking system, but people are determined to bring me down, 343 even wanted to make it Invisible. Big Meanies.

Exactly. Plus, I think the low population of Reach plays a big factor into the whole matching random people with each other but even then, Halo 3 has a low population and it STILL does a better job at matching players of similar skill with each other.
Halo 4 should definitely have a more strict TruSkill system.
mother of god…yeah I agree BUT WHY DIDN’T THEY QUIT??? at about the 30th death they should have thought “hey these people are just farming me im gone”
I, of course, agree. It’s really more of a “why not” scenario. But no disrespect, these threads are usually just thinly-coated excuses to brag about high kill games.
The reason ‘why not’ according to Bungie was that, “No one liked being told they weren’t good enough.”

I enjoyed Halo 2’s ranking system (pre-update was best). Halo 3’s ranking system was way worse… From what I can tell Reach’s ranking system was even worse…

I wasn’t trying to boast about a high kill game so I’m sorry if it seemed that way
I just thought I would point out at how bad the TruSkill system is in Reach and that Halo 4 should learn from this.

Haha that’s what I really wanted to know when playing these guys. You would think they would quit out after realizing we wanted to rack up kills before we planted the bomb, ya know?
A General or Colonel are not “new” players.
This shows a problem.
Aussie Pride got matched up against the best Australians searching Team Slayer at the time on his first ever game of Halo Reach.
This isn’t fun for the new player and it isn’t fun for us either.

No worries, it’s just all people did on B.net, haha.

Haha I sadly, remember those days. I remember when Cosssta would occasionally post something that would pertain to his skill level. That got a lot of people riled up.
I played a game of BTB earlier today that we won 150-19. I absolutely agree that the TrueSkill system needs to be tightened.
There is a search restriction option for players of similar skill. Yes it does take longer but that’s the price you pay for wanting an even match.
Having a number next to your name doesn’t automatically make every single game an even matchup. I still remember plenty of unfair match ups in Halo 3 from both sides.
It’s the flaw of reach’s ranking system. Players “fluke” into a good rating, with not enough experience, and get matched with people close to their rating, which are highly experienced.

The best Australians hmm? What’s that only +6?
Kiddinggg. I find it funny because that’s not what a CoD fan would say. People use the MP7 even if they know it kills everything, and they say it’s fun.
Stricter Truskill! And a Skill-based Ranking System!! (Asking too much?)
Yeah i just played a game my team 4 Inheritors them their highest was a Field Marshall. Thing is to is guests i swear i played Invasion almost half the team was guests.
Halo 2 to me by far had the best Ranking System.

Oh my, that is bad.
I actually kind of feel sorry for that new player to be honest. That must have been not really fun for him. But I agree that a General or Colonel are not necessarily “new” players but players of that rank level being matched up with an Eclipse, 2 Forerunners, and an Inheritor not to mention with guests? That kind of is ridiculous.
I don’t get it, it took you 10min and 11secs to score 2 out of 3 bombs while getting a team kill total over 100… It is 3 bombs to win right? Or am I wrong, did it take 10min and 11secs to score 2 out of 2 bombs?

Last time I search “similar skill” I won the game of Double Team 25-0.

Bad game and team work broke down.

They could have just played lots of Campaign and leveled up that way we need a system just for Match Making.
I like what 343 has done so far make a ranking system for Spartan Ops and another for Matchmaking thats what they should have done in Reach.
