We need remakes of some old competitive maps!!!!

After downloading the new update and messing around on tyrant for a little it dawned on me that instead of bringing out new maps, some old ones should be brought back (The Pit, Lockout, Chill out, Narrows, Just to name a few). It’ll be cool to bring some of these maps back to give a taste of the old to the new. Just my opinion.

I’d like to see some of the old BTB maps too like terminal, relic containment and waterworks which was one of my favorites

From watching the live stream last night it does sound like 343i is actively working with cartographers to get player maps into the game, both originals and remakes. Unyshek did put things in perspective a little bit too, since it’s not as easy as just finding someone’s map and plopping it into matchmaking.

Many of the player made maps may look great, but that’s only part of the story. Spawn points, weapon placement, and exploits are all things that usually need to be tweaked from the creators original version. This requires a lot of internal play testing and modification to work out which can be time consuming.

Waypoint logic: remakes > remixes

They did it for btb, I’m sure they can pull some for just straight arena

There’s a narrows remake in the community. I’ve played on it and it was pretty fun.

Lol.

The few you named are just the best.

The problem with bringing back old maps is, this is a different game, different abilities, different play style. So bringing back maps that were once competitive in older Halo games doesn’t guarantee they will be competitive in Halo 5.

Those maps won’t work with H5. Just make new, good, competitive maps and it’ll be fine.

They are two very different things don’t you know

Repurposing existing designs to add to gameplay? If you feel they are two “very different” things, then your definition is kind of insulated.
