Why should we have the game choose which leg to move? We should be in control. I think people are spoiled with MMC where the game basically makes your spartan walk with just a single stick, but making everybody able to walk without spending 100 hours trying and failing will make the competitive aspect of Halo Infinite die very fast.
It’s a first person shooter, and in first person shooters you walk, no way this should be done in auto. Nerf the walk assist, or remove it completely, and enjoy the huge dimension of the skill gap you created, filling with the ragdolls of the filthy casuals that sucks at aiming… sorry, I meant that sucks at walking.
Don’t mind if they are able to walk egregiously in every single game, this is Halo for god’s sake, we don’t like casuals or old players, here. It’s F2P and meant to be played at least by millions of GP users, but it’s clearly niche, and we all hope that people used to walk assist wil leave the platform soon so we will enjoy the game better.
I can see people complaining, but I can guarantee you that if it doesn’t work for you it’s because you didn’t spent three or four days straight tweaking your setting. Take a couple days out of your job, tell your beloved ones that you have serious things to do, forget the fun and focus on the settings, because that’s why we play games, to look into the wonderful menus, and after that I promise it will work like a charm. Maybe it will hurt your finger, but can you imagine how COMPETITIVE you will feel?
And please, don’t flood the board with topics about how you can’t walk in this game, looking for excuses. It’s just because you suck at walking. You should accept it. And practice. And tweak the settings.
You forgot about breathing… like when you are sprinting etc. Having the game breathe faster automatically for you is basically cheating. It just adds so much more dimension to the game if you add this skill gap. It’s 2021 for crying out loud, why is halo so set in the past.
No one in the competitive world will be able to take this game seriously.

Right? We just need to allow for auto lock on heads. And while we’re at it, lets make it so every plasma grenade automatically flies and sticks to your opponent. Because we need to think of the casuals and how hard it is to stick someone with a plasma grenade.
Finally, someone who gets it. It’s a crutch for controller players and the game should just drop all support for the subpar input device and focus solely on being a MnK-only game if it wants any chance at succeeding in a competitive space. Who cares that it’s the face of the Xbox console, controller players need to stop living in the past and learn to walk with a keyboard.

Actually it could work for controller player too: Just put a second pad on the floor and move the sticks with your feets, each stick for one leg. Feel the skill gap, buddy!

I know right? I’m so tired of all these succesful FPS that have a large fanbase only becuase they have autoaim, like… ehm… I don’t know, but I’m pretty sure there’s plenty of them, and they are awful!

I don’t know what you mean because that’s what we want Halo to be. Auto aim for life, right?

Yes, that’s the final goal!
I mean, if one key/button/trigger shoots as it was the index finger of the right hand, how can it be that another single key/button/trigger pick up a granade, pull it and throw it? This is not how a competitive shooter shoud be. It’s so casual and allow underskilled and old halo players to spam grenades even if they DO NOT deserve it. And maybe they get kills with them, the shame!
One key for pick up a nade, one to pull the safety trigger, and possibly a dedicated peripheral to mimic the movement of the arm. That’s how the top player will emerge!
