Hello 343, if you are reading this can you please bring back the old style Halo medals from Halo 3/Reach days? Literally take all the new medals you created for Halo 5 but give them that Reach aesthetic look to them. The way they looked all grizzly and rustic. I’m kinda tired of seeing the neon style medals from Halo 4/5. The multikill medals just don’t give me as much joy anymore to earn them with the way they look now.
Does anyone else agree? Disagree? Let me hear your thoughts.
And as part of armour customisation you should be able to run around with the medals literally pinned to your chest.

YES, absolutley agree if 343i is reading this you should really bring back the H3-Reach medals into infinity it will make the game so much better
Would definitely love Halo 3-styled medals back. Prefer those to Halo Reach’s.

I like the older style medals too, but “it will make the game so much better”? The art style of the medals is one of the last things I’m concerned about making the game better.
The medal designs used in Halo Reach definitely were just absolutely fantastic. I was really a fan of the fact that they looked like actual medals made of actual metals. They were just fun to look at and made the experience a bit more gratifying because it wasn’t just “I did this cool thing”, but “I did this cool thing and got a cool looking medal for it”.
The simplistic looking medals introduced in Halo 4 were a huge letdown for me because they just looked uninteresting, and undid essentially seven or so years of Bungie’s work perfecting the appearance of medals.

What bothers me about medals is how ugly Killtacular looks. Idk why they went with the 5-side of a die layout when it used to be an inverted pentagon shape for the stars, but I’d like that look back. Hell, I had to complain about Killtrocity in Halo 4 to get fixed for Halo 5 (the top star in H4 was smaller than the other 5).
The look themselves doesn’t bother me, I like the clean look of them. The rustic look from Reach made it seem it was done as a way to show a time lapse that they rusted (because it was a prequel to CE). I liked it, but it matched the art style. The current medals match the current art style, so I’d imagine with this new art style for Infinite coming in, we will probably see a change in medal visual fidelity

I completely agree with everything you said. I felt the same way about Halo 4’s new medals because it did essentially undo every medal that Bungie put so much time and effort into making. I even remember the Bungie weekly update they had written on their website that specifically showcased the new look of the medals for Halo Reach. I know it sounds so trivial but reading that article even though it only talked about medals made me super excited to get my hands on the game.

I don’t know. It may just be me, but I kinda prefer the more clean and simplistic medal designs of Halo 5. Granted I see no reason they couldn’t create the Reach medals in the Halo 5 style. I just don’t really care of the over detailing of such as small thing. It feels kinda excessive. To me, it just looks cleaner and dare a say “newer” with the I guess more flat and UI"ish" looking ones.
I don’t want to say the Reach medals give off a 90’s png vibe but… (I understand they were made by very talented people and I mean no offense to them as someone who is going into the digital design field) That just how I feel.
Just my two cents, I get I am in the minority here.
With the Halo Infinite Flight on the horizon, this discussion is about to become relevant again. Please 343 bring back the old medal designs
i love the reach medals how when you get multi kills the more you get the more cleaner they get
