Remember in the multiplayer reveal when they said armour would mostly be unlocked by simply playing the game and that there would be no fear of missing out? Well that was a load of bull…
I completed the season 1 premium battle pass months ago and I don’t feel like wasting my money on the season 2 battle pass because there are no cosmetics I really want in the battle pass. I recreated my reach spartan as best as I could but there’s not even a basic white (primary) and blue (secondary) armour coating? Like such a basic combination of colours which could be done in about 5 seconds in previous games but nah, that’s too difficult for the amazing new armour coating system apparently. The gameplay is good at it’s core but there’s nothing for me to work towards so what is the point in playing? No progression system, no commendations. Just the same crap challenges to grind through every week with rubbish rewards for completing them all and anything decent is locked behind a paywall. I only jump on infinite for a couple of games here and there. Still playing mcc more often than infinite. I was super excited for this game, praised it at launch despite all it was missing. Over the last few months I’ve lost interest in this game. Halo has always been my favourite franchise but I just feel so done with this game. Somebody wake me up when it’s worth playing again. Probably best to wake 343i up first and remind them to actually work on this game and not waste their time adding microtransactions to mcc.
Also I don’t want to see any more armour cores added until we get cross core customization at least. Seeing all the armours which I can’t pick and choose from is just extremely annoying. 5 cores is already too many. I just really hate the entire system of the cores, coatings and the way it’s all unlocked.
I hope I don’t come across as whiney, I’m just sad that the game isn’t much better now than it was at launch. Sure there’s more gamemodes and a couple of new maps but there’s no new ways of earning things in game. Nothing really to work towards. My friends have already stopped playing. There’s no social features so I can’t even make new friends to play with. Just no point in playing anymore.
