We need more focus on forerunners in infinite

After i saw trailers and demo i suspect there will be simple story of Chief against Banished in Campaign.Im not sure how will the thing about Guardians and Cortana be solved in this but i want more focus on Forerunners in Halo Infinite. They said it will be a 10 year support so ihope we get it more in future expansions.

Just give us better Forerunner foes. I love the sentinels, but I’m not a fan of the dogs.

I will be seriously miffed if Prometheans don’t make an appearance in Infinite. I actually enjoy fighting Prometheans in Halo 4 even if I acknowledge there are legitimate issues with their design.

The potential is there, they just needed to go back and really address the core issues that the Prometheans had in H4. H5 felt like a lateral move that didn’t really fix their underlying problems while introducing new ones, so it will be really disappointing if they get shoved to the side like Jul.

At this point I’m really hoping the Harbinger is like the composed Didact or something and that will explain why the Prometheans are currently working with the Banished, but I’m not very hopeful ATM.

I don’t know, maybe since the game will be a “next-ten-years” kind of thing we could have some Promethean enemies and a campaign tying up loose ends. I think the first story should focus on the banished

You mean the crawlers.

Too early to tell. They might show up in a different part of the campaign similar to how the flood appeared later on in CE. They want to keep some things under wraps.

I get hyped watching forerunners in the terminal cutscenes/Legends/etc. Those are the forerunners I want to play with. Maybe even team up with to fight the Flood and watch them get shredded!

Sadly it seems they abandoned the idea of exploring the forerunners and the precursors, and in general things beyond what we saw in the original games. The prometheans had objectively much room for improvement in terms on gameplay but I completely loved the concept. I wanted to see more classes as well as more sentinels to fight with. Instead we’re getting the same exact covenant reheated from the bungie era except it’s red. They are equally powerful as if H3 never happened.

I vehemently oppose further exploring the forerunners, as I think that’s been one of the biggest mistakes any Halo creator has done.

For me, Halo was so much better when the forerunners were mysterious and you didn’t know what their culture or processes were like. Now that we’ve encountered a few forerunners and had their stories dived in to, the mystery is gone and with it a lot of the appeal.

I used to walk through their structures and wonder “how did they build this, what were they like?” and it was fascinating. Now I walk though them like they’re any Waffle House. Oh, someone built this as their 9-5 job cool… I guess.

The promethean enemies haven’t done the forerunners any justice. Warden, the skag things, the knights, the watchers, they all do nothing for me and I don’t find them fun to fight.

For me, it’s a big case of the mystery being more fun than having the answer.

You mean the orange robot dogs? Hard pass on that.

Forerunners being human is essential to Halos plotline. It is the foundation for the entire storyline.

And 343 just went nah, theyre orange robots ok.

I mean those that have read the expanded universe(including myself) what stuff do you think the average player would need to know as the general idea of the forerunners has already been explained to the player mostly in halo 4 whats is there more to explain without going into deep lore and losing focus of the main story line with the banished/created.

Bungie gave up on the Forerunners=Humans thing in the Halo3 terminals. 343i brought it back in the Forerunner Trilogy of books suggesting that millions of years ago they may have indeed evolved from a similar form of beings. The orange robots were just a last ditch effort to make Forerunners immune to the Flood. Also, the colours change! Fun!

Absolutely not, bringing forerunners into current Halo lore was a mistake. They should have been kept as a mysterious ancient race, but at no point should we ever have met them.

I would like that we visit Maethrillian at some point in the future and i would like for Didact to return in Infinite.

You mean more prometeans? I dont like them, they dont have any weakness, like halo 4 knights or halo 5 soldiers
If you mean forerunners like didact im totally agree, there’s actually at least 1 alive in halo universe.

I do believe it will probably be in a DLC post-launch. The game is already confirmed to not be open world but fragments of large areas and that only 1/3 of the ring would be explorable. With that said they could and very easily would use that 2/3rds of ring space to add in the created and such, maybe even the flood, as much as they should be in the base game like combat evolved did and it handled a 4 way battle by the end. I think 343i is going to dumb the story down real low for new players so I wouldn’t expect any halo 2 level of complex story telling.

Yes of course i mean real Forerunners like Didact,i think some should still be alive.Didn’t like Prometheans either,i think we got enough of them in 2 games. They could be maybe used in potential Halo Wars 3 game one last time imo.
We got a lot of great Forerunners lore now through books and games.I would love to see Didact and Librarian again and some new ones and visit some cool new locations.

Im totally agree bro, the didact was a waste in halo 4, they should have more protagonism i mean, their builds are in every single game and the didact was obsessed with exterminate the humanity, and the only wise one was the librarian but she only comes out in a single cinematic.
I think that there’s at least one alive, he is a kind of safe copy of didact, his name is ISO didact or UR didact i dont remember.

Speaking of Sentinels, I’d like for the Enforcers in return in Halo Infinite. Haven’t seen those since Halo 2.
