Oddball and Ricochet are in the bag for March since they’re already customizable through the Ball Mode gametype. We aren’t getting official variabts in February, so I’m going all in on them popping up in matchmaking in the March update.
I’m guessing Infection will be next, not KotH, since people are clamoring for it. So the earliest we see KotH/Race IMO is May and that’s being optimistic. But Oddball is definitely coming soon.

343 being well aware we want oddball is them offering it in custom games but not matchmaking. that is something that should be addressed in a forum where they have arranged a place for us to voice our questions and concerns. this is not “getting worked up” or anything like it. i am here to voice my concerns about the game and one is that KOTH and Oddball be added asap.
The advice to “be patient” (repeatedly) does not help in any way. if anything it sounds as if you are discouraging any type of urgency. or does it make you feel better to tell others to be patient?

yes many people do love infection, you’re right there. just doesnt seem that hard to make KOTH compared to bomb, ball, or even infection.
343 have shown they are listening to feedback. Im simply putting my two cents out there to remind them we have not forgotten about these game types. And to be fair i have followed about everything 343 has announced since before launch and i personally haven’t seen any reference to KOTH ( i must have missed it). that is part of the reason why i am posting.

Hey man, didn’t mean to sound aggressive or anything. I’m just tired of seeing NEW koth, oddball, and infection threads popping up every other day.
We all want official Koth gametype. We all want official oddball gametype. We all want official infection gametype.
343 isn’t going to read this thread and think “hey, they want koth and oddball asap… better drop everything and get that in now instead of later.”

We don’t all want infection. that is the worst game type out there. (find best place to camp, camp there, best camper wins. thats infection)
dude you are on a forum that is designed for people to chat about the game, what is wrong with it, and what can be improved. but instead you are on here telling people that what they are writing is essentially worthless and is a waste of time. do you think i expect them to think that? whats you deal dude? first off, you’re being an -Yoink-.
second off;343 definitely does review what is posted on this website. they definitely respond directly to feedback both here, on twitter, and through other sources. I have personally seen the affect posting on forums like this can have on this game. why do you think they just made the “weekend ctf” permanent? is it because someone called 343 and told them/? or is it because of the countless of people posting about how weekend playlists are garbage and we want permanent ones instead?
i am not posting because i think they will change their timetable. that is obvious, but you’re an idiot so i have to spell that out for you. i am posting to get peoples opinion and in hope that by people talking about this it will help remind 343. i have not seen many (if any) KOTH focused posts ever. all i ever see is posts for infection.

You can’t make Race with Strongholds. You can’t make hill rotations in Strongholds. There is still a presedence to add it in the future, after more pressing modes are dealt with.

Agreed. King of the Hill is the best objective FFA mode and really the only one that works in a competitive setting. It needs to come back. Not to mention Multi-Team KOTH is purely chaotic fun!

Strongholds isn’t a replacement for KotH. It is just 3-plots from Halo 2. It isn’t a new gametype. 343 apparently didn’t like the name Territories or 3-Plots so they renamed it to Strongholds. Plus you need to cap a Stronghold. In KotH you need to actually be in the hill by yourself. Hence the name King of the Hill.
