No matter how many times Bungie has edited the Infection/Alpha Zombie maps, people find places to go that they shouldn’t. Why can’t we just have maps MADE for Infection/Alpha Zombies? It’s October, Halloween is right around the corner, why not a Beta Infection/Alpha Zombie playlist with dedicated maps from the community, and based on the votes, implement them into the actual Infection playlist?
Infection is my favorite game type, but I am just…sick of it now.
Agreed. I loved the forged Zombie maps in Halo 3, and there’s just no excuse for not having some in Reach. Even slightly tweaked ones with barricades and things like that would be awesome.
Infection in Halo 3 was awesome! I really hope 343 starts to put in custom-made Infection maps into the playlist. The custom maps is what made Infection in Halo 3 as awesome as it was.
Determining map fitness via votes is a bad idea. Right now, people are only voting for the maps that they know they can exploit, and I doubt that would change with the introduction of a beta Infection playlist.
I’d love to see some community-made Infection maps in Matchmaking so long as they play well, but voting isn’t the best way to determine which ones should get to stay.
Humans get one point if they manage to survive until the round times out.
Zombies get multiple points for killing Humans.
Humans have objectives they must do to score points.
Better balance the Humans and the Zombies so they are more equal.
Pretty much anything else under the sun except the current system which leads to heavy amounts of camping and the most lopsided scores anywhere out of BTB and Cosssta rolling randoms.
I’ve already completed a few dedicated infection maps.
So far I have:
Sourhouse
Hordebase
Boardstalk
Take a guess at which map they are. I’ve tested them and they all play far more interesting than the default vanilla maps. I’ll upload them to my fileshare in a little bit to anyone more who’s interested.
Agreed, I hate playing infection as the current maps are just a camp fest for the humans and the zombies always get killed over and over again. Heck, most games of infection I play the zombies go AFK

Agreed. Most children will vote for the maps where they believe they have the biggest advantage or know of a good hiding spot. A good infection map will be fair to both humans and zombies.

Unfortunately, that just shows how stupid most players stuck as zombies are. Instead of trying to be stealthy and flank humans, they constantly run straight at them. It happened in just about every game I played in Halo 3 and unfortunately kids didn’t get much smarter since then.
Basically when bungie made forge they gave all objects a ridiculous number of polygons and unecessary lights. Only after launch did they realise that when playing on split screen you get attrocious lag as a result. Living dead has four player split screen, so forge worlds maps are a no no.
However if the CEA maps have a new forge pallete we could see some maps from those…

I would very much like to see this happen. Also what needs to be done is the removal of the caged. I’m sick of noobs voting for that map just so they can get a better kd or some challenge. The zombie playlist is for zombie killing fans not you cR whores.
I completely agree. I love infection, I played it on halo 2. I have been wanting custom maps since the infection playlist was released. 343i make it happen.
