we need classic playlist urgently

we should get a halo 3 style playlist with weapons around the maps and have a slayer and slayer br mode with all the infinity slayer maps and ragnarok only from the big team one. Also have our weapons skins when we spawn in the game and have no dmr that gun should have only stayed in halo reach cause its easy to use and has a longer range then the battle rifle also slayer pro is dying so we need this playlist urgently.

That is the longest run on sentence I’ve ever seen. Also, who is “we”? I hope “we” doesn’t include me because I’ve played Classic Halo three times over and I’m bored of it. I’d rather keep playing new experiences then be stuck in the past and playing the same thing over and over again.

I wouldn’t mind loadouts, just no instant respawn, personal ordinance, and kill cams.

I agree completely. All the features that they added are not what Halo was all about, and it ruined what made Halo so popular in the first place.

Halo wasn’t about loadouts, AA, perks, and killstreaks. It wasn’t about killing someone just to have them instantly respawn only to pick you off with a dmr from across the map. It wasn’t about having 8 people running around blindly with power weapons. There is so much randomness in this game it is mindblowing. Almost everything that made Halo what it was and so popular has been ruined or removed.

Your a God, completely agree ^

if u want halo 3… how about go play halo 3?.. just sayin. i dont have the urge to back track.

Seriously. I don’t hate the new Halo, but would it really be that hard to add a few playlists that are classic? Even Call of Duty has the few Classic FPS playlists with floating weapons and standard starting weapons (At least they did in MW and MW2).

As for the comments about not bringing back the past, how about not bringing in the COD? I know that seems like an invalid argument but its more of an expression than being serious. I understand the desire to attract the demographic of other popular FPS online players but If I wanted classes in my game, I’d play battlefield.

(Classes aren’t the worst addition (Although I prefer it be standardized), but BY GOD way-pointed weapons and personal ordinance can lay in a grave. )

I think why I am most bitter is due to the rumors previous to release that there would be separate playlists for classic style play. I understand that change is unavoidable but not all change is necessary. Reach sold so well because the core audience was hoping for more classic Halo. If we can’t have it remain the same, at least compromise would suffice. Add a few classic playlists according to what the fans request and you’ve fixed a lot of the bad reputation that the game has acquired.

I’m also bitter because I fell in love with Halo multiplayer because of its simplicity and it required you to rely on the environment to scavenge for weapons. Reach was a total miss, in my opinion (Too many forge maps, no incentive to rank up and the game seemed so bland (in graphics anyway)). Halo 4 had a MUCH better campaign, great forge, consistent theater, BUT the multiplayer is barely off, which stings a lot because it is so close. The maps are fine but the gameplay is too much directed towards the new wave of multiplayer gamers.

For all those opposed to the addition to classic playlists, it’s only a compromise. Halo 3 is full of hackers and its servers are too janky to actually get a real game without flying spartans or super-generals getting 50 kills and no deaths, that’s why we can’t go back. It’s simple and reasonable to request a few playlists for the older Halo fans.

QFT.

And yeah, we really do need a classic option NOW.

Anyone remember the interview where the bald guy (I’m bad with names lol) said we would always have a vanilla Halo option? LIES.

Yeah and when Kevin Franklin said in an interview that JIP wouldn’t put you in at the end of a match, and that it wouldn’t put you in games where one team’s lead is insurmountable. I feel like I was lied to about a few things with this game. Including the whole don’t worry this is still Halo. I am thinking the reason they didn’t do an open beta in the first place is because of how different this game is. The people that loved 1-3 which includes me wouldn’t have bought this game in the first place.

You have classic playlists.

We are still playing the HALO 4 BETA so it’s not finished and just like everything else, he said we would have the option.

In 5 months time when the population is 20,000 a day.

Yes I agree that Halo 3 players need some distant playlist far far far away from the rest of us who actually want to play a new experience.

This game is not a new experience. I play Halo, BF, and COD. I liked them because they were all very different from each other, and I feel like I shouldn’t have to explain in detail how they were unique from each other. Halo 4 does not play that much different from these other games now especially COD. Please tell me the great innovative features this game offers that makes it such a NEW and REFRESHING game. Everything in this game has been around forever. It isn’t “fresh” and it certainly is not “innovative.” It just imitated features that other games use, so please tell me how it is new?

Do you think a lot of the COD fanbase would be upset if COD all of a sudden added:
-shields
-increased jump abilities
-static weapons
-removed killstreaks
-removed perks

and yet many want to go back to nothing at all, what four USNC guns. Really Strafing and Hopping. Equipment that was never used. Same old vehicles, Basically a game from 2007. Halo 4 fails because they 343 can’t do anything new because they are never going to be allowed to by either Microsoft or it’s community. They have to appeal to the core and they have to appeal to COD. They have to nerf anything of interest therefore never ever breaking the mold of what came before it.

For Halo this all these attempts are a new experience. Oh believe me I am dissatisfied in the Loadouts and COD whatevers as well as the AAs, but from the completely opposite end of why. So yeah I want your H3 guys to get what they want, maybe then maybe we can get some break throughs and new designs without them being completely toned down to instant mediocrity if the H3a have what they want elsewhere.

Thats exactly what I was thinking about earlier today. A beta would have decimated the sales for this game.

I’m all for a classic playlist, but let’s be honest … classic playlists have a history of being under populated, under populated playlists have a history of not sticking around. The best I think we will see is a rotational playlist.

Though in the end, it won’t be a 100% Classic playlist, but that’s the caveat of trying to make an old experience out of a new game.
