For me, one of the biggest disappointments of Halo 4 is the lack of campaign theater and scoring. I loved Halo 4’s campaign, so this is a big blow to me. I love to speedrun, and I don’t have game capture equipment. So theater was always a great way for me to try speedrunning and feel official. But now it’s gone. It was introduced in 2007 but now 5 years later they couldn’t fit in in? It’s not just speedrunning. Halo 4 is a gorgeous looking game. It would be so fun to go into theater and look at the new prometheans at every angle, or take a screenshot of Installation 03 in all of it’s glory. Or discover new things in the broadsword run. The list goes on and on. 343 needs to put this in the next TU or they will get a LOT of heat for it!!! Do you guys want this as bad as I do?

This also apply to the playlist, I mean, Halo 4’s playlist is NOTHING compared to Reach’s.
Yeah its a big dissapointment its not in the game.
My guess is that Microsoft pushed 343 industries to get the game released before Black Ops 2, which is why features that have been around for the last 5 years such as the campaign theatre, scoring and the file share arent in the game.
I read somewhere that they would possibly add these features in an update further down the line, the fileshare will be implemented but i doubt campaign scoring and theatre will happen. It will take a lot of time, resources and money to put this in the game and as they cant/wont charge us for this they wont see it as being worth it, instead focusing on dlc maps which we pay for.
IIRC, there was an old Halo Bulletin that had a list of some community-asked questions. One of those questions was about Campaign Theater.
The answer that was provided didn’t address Campaign Theater specifically, but did state that 343i is looking at Title Updates as a way to introduce new features, in addition to merely fixing bugs. That that fact was provided in response to a Campaign Theater question is rather telling, no?

Just put it on the long list of items that need to be added to Halo 4.
With the exclusion of Theater mode from Spartan OPs and Campaign, along with the “weak” custom game/forge options, along with the lack of working File Browser and a pretty dry list of playlist and other “apparent issues”…this game would have really benefited from alot more time in development. No game is perfect, but most AAA games are complete when first launched.
It’ll be fixed slowly with Title Updates, which shows that additional development time would be needed since they pushed all of these issues to Title Updates being implemented in the future.
I hope this doesn’t become to prevelant in the industry, releasing a game thats incomplete only to have issues steadily addressed via TU’s.
