We need better Warzone map themes.

So far we have…
Human snow base.
Human desert base.
Human tropical base.

and next we get…
Human city base.

Honestly where is the imagination in Halo maps these days?
Not only in Warzone but Halo 5 maps lack the wow factor of previous titles.

How about instead of the same thing we get:

Warzone map on a Covie ship
A huge internal area with bases & lifts all while revolving around the ship’s power core at the center.
All Covenant enemies, no Forerunners. Maybe even bring back some old ones like Brutes and Drones.

Warzone map on a Flood converted world.
I know they’re not likely to add new enemies, that’s to much effort but imagine
a badass map with goopy Flood crud all over the place and Flood themed bosses.
Instead of marines in our bases they could put team colored sentinels to protect the bases.

Warzone map on a beautiful alien world or Forerunner planet.

Think wildlife and monsters instead of rehashed campaign bosses.
Imagine the creatures from Reach or some other non-military monsters to battle for points.

I 100% Agree OP, I can only imagine we will see different themes as the months roll by, so don’t worry.

I just want a flood themed warzone map so badly, it would be such a treat to fight flood forms, I would pay for a DLC like that. You’d see me wearing the MARK IV body and MARK VI helmet, role playing as the Chief XD

But seriously that would be awesome, first Ultra boss could be a flood tank form, 2nd could be flood bomber, then the final could be a juggernaut or proto Gravemind.

Imagine it being set on an Ancient human or Forerunner planet too, sigh… one can only hope. Fingers crossed op, fingers crossed

Only the covenant ship would really be feasable, but no brutes or drones. Adding more enemies means programming more AIs. And while it’s not impossible, it seems improbable because the amount of work that would have to go into it.

I kinda covered that in my OP but I agree, it is unlikely. However they really went out of the way to make the multiplayer modular so they can just plug and play new content into the system. It is possible but as you said very unlikely, a guy can dream though.

While I would like to see more themes from the maps, I’m personally not stressing it at the moment given that they’ve already stated they’ll be releasing free content. I would imagine that adding more diverse maps themes would be kinda obvious.

That aside, I’d personally like to see a Flood map with random enemies generated rather than the same scripted AIs we currently have in WZ maps. Hmm, wonder how the Gravemind would attack us? Giant tentacles?

That would be amazing, have a giant pit in the center of the map and the Gravemind would come out as the replacement for the Warden Eternal. Whipping tentacles at you while a few smaller forms attack from the ground. That would be crazy awesome, that is almost too awesome for Halo they would NEVER give us something that epic.

The community gets free maps til June 2016 and this date may change to an extension. What makes you think 343 Industries does have some of the request you’re suggesting of WZ maps in testing now for release later? It’s not like we were charged a season pass. Enjoy the game and free content that’s being given away each month.

Never say never man, we want 343 to adopt a can do mentality. Why not be the first FPS studio to do something that ambitious and grandiose?

Granted it may be wishful thinking at this point in time, but one can only hope  I don’t think it’s beyond 343’s capabilities.

I think if the community displayed a collective desire for this kind of content, 343 would be at least tempted to try.

I hope they can manage to bring the magic back.

Not to mention that they wouldn’t fit into the story line. Brutes are pretty much extinct and if a Sangheili were to find one on their ship, they would kill him.

Warzone and Arena are simulations, they don’t need to be canon. Spartans need to be trained to handle any threat, regardless of the Covenant’s standing.
