IMO the biggest problem with reach post TU is the awful MM system. If 343 does anything they should at least match players similar in skill. I believe 343 is unnecessarily adding Drop in/out because of skewed quitting statistics due to a crappy MM system.
Having bad teammates/opponents is not fun for the good or bad players. The majority of the time bad players just quit because dying and getting yelled at is not fun. Drop in will not fix this especially if the same loose algorithm is used.
All I am saying is that if games are actually matched fairly, quitting should not be a problem. If anything drop in will encourage MORE quitting while damaging the integrity of the match.
It is my hope that 343 is not using Drop in/out as an excuse to keep the same loose truskill party matching.
Thank you for your time.
Hm what if they are doing both. No one really quitting, but it would really help when people lag out a lot (like how you lag out on my host.)

The problem is if there is Drop in, than there will be no quit penalty.
If there is no penalty then people will not care about leaving, and will do so often.
“I Dont like this map” quits.
“rage I died” quits.
Quit penalty is a necessity.
Now I have a good idea for lag outs. Make it to where that player can rejoin the match freely. Problem solved
Why do you think that people only quit because they’re having a bad game? I’m sure more than often they just get bored or have to go do something else. Matching players evenly, which has been tried since Halo 3, won’t help this much at all.

*agrees.
Yeah Because I hate lag outs
Simply remove the quit option from matchmaking so the only way to quit is to turn off or go to dashboard. Also let there be a 10 min ban for every time you do quit. If you quit twice in one day it will be 20 mins, 3 times 30 mins etc.
Of course that wouldn’t be popular with the casual community and may result in losing a lot of player.

We have played enough games to know thats the number one reason why kids quit.
but but COD has a drop in/out system D:

Well, I wouldn’t call myself a casual player. I’ve been on Halo since the original, have played nearly 7k Halo 3 games, and have poured tons of hours into the franchise, but having a system that severe would fail to resonate with the majority of the community. The punishment should act similarly as the system in Halo 3, where quitting sets you back a win or two or you lose a game’s worth of Spartan Points or exp, etc.
Players, including me, usually hate the idea of having to wait to get back into the game simply because they quit a game. Quitting may have been the result of a various number of reasons. Though, the thing that 343i should definitely attend to is the betrayal/booting system. That system is just crazy and really unpredictable.
