This is a request that’s been made over a million times ever since Halo 3’s theater mode first surfaced half a decade ago.
It’s time to truly let the community show the world what they’re made of and share their amazing Halo moments with the rest of the world. So add a YouTube uploader, accessible via Halo 4’s Theater mode. Theater wasn’t shown as much love as it deserved in Reach, let’s change that this time around.
That is a great idea. Also with the update to the xbox coming out soon and their emphasis on making things more sharable, they should have facebook and twitter uploaders, too. But yes, a youtube uploader will be awesome.
meh. I like my HD capture card. I stopped relying on external system to take care of my video renders / uploads a long time ago. The day Halo 4 comes out I’ll have so many videos uploaded =)
Just to go ahead and say, I am 13. Unless they come up with some way to limit this, I say no. “This” is younger kids with no logic and adults/kids with too large an ego. You tube would be overflown with videos and stupid stuff.
Yes it would be great but we would have to watch it.

I totally respect the fact that people like using their capture cards, but why force absolutely everyone to spend a hundred dollars on something that should have always been accessible via the game.

YouTube is always being overflowed with garbage videos except for maybe that tiny 5% if quality videos. It really wouldn’t make too much of a difference.

Personally I like the monopoly it gives those who have the ability to upload gameplay that can do it themselves. It’s usually better quality (HD) better gameplay, and you get higher view counts because no on else can provide gameplay. I’ve been uploading Halo 3 and Reach gameplay for eons. When the service to render / upload gameplay for reach and Halo 3 went down for several months I was still churning out 20+ gameplay videos per week on my channel (of just Halo, I upload many other games too).
In a way it’s the reward for taking the initiative to do it yourself rather than rely on someone else to do it for you. For Halo 4 I am buying a 4Tb HDD external just to store all the gameplay I capture.
A service that does uploading and rendering costs a lot to keep going and I bet in the long run you’d pay more on that than you would buying an Elgato Game Capture HD card and an external Hard drive to store the stuff (if you wanted to keep it all).
I personally think they should turn the theatre, map downloader, gametype downloader, etc. all into one big Halo Waypoint social network where you sign in and you can post stuff to each other, etc. From there, you can post to YouTube, Facebook, or whatever.
Bungie created that render-to-video monster after much, much hard work. To keep that thing running took a LOT of resources. I honestly doubt 343 has a similar feature to launch alongside Halo 4. Maybe down the road, but definitely not for YouTube. I’m glad I just got my new capture card. I wasted enough on render minutes.

Now there’s a good point. I forgot about Google purchasing YouTube years ago. But still, who knows. At least a Waypoint feature enabling us to watch and share videos would be cool.

Microsoft = Bing
Bing and Google are currently at war. And the games that have YouTube uploaders are usually third-party games.
