Who remembers that mission in halo 2 when the covenant civil war started? And it plays blow me away by breaking benjamin? It was honestly my favorite moment from any halo game today. With covenant fighting covenant, and then a master chief showing up with a few marines, it was insane. The guitar suits halo so well. 343I, please, find some band willing to do what breaking benjamin did for bungie, and get us some sick song featured in a mission. But with halo five being made for xbone, I bet that they will be able to make an even crazier battle.
Heres the part of the mission, enjoy :)(This isnt my filming btw.)
Yes, we need to hear creative new songs and have that classic halo feeling again. Removing the original soundtrack’s style completely would be like removing the needler from the game. It is the icon of halo. If the original halo theme randomly started playing in the grocery store, everyone would know what it is even if they hadn’t played game. If the halo 4 soundtrack started playing, many would think of star wars or something. (Weird comparison i know) It just needs to sound like it belongs in halo. ODST was very different from the original soundtrack yet it fit right in, same goes for halo wars.
I agree in so many ways. Halo reach and halo 4 didn’t have the greatest soundtracks imo which was kinda a let down. Both of those halo’s lacked guitars hence why a decent portion of people didn’t care for the soundtrack in those 2 games.

Blow me away was the only Halo track I didn’t mind guitars in. Reach was the best because it had a full soundtrack full off mainly orchestra mixed with vocals.
ODST and Reach had the most emotional well suited for the game soundtracks. i nearly cry listening to Reach it really feels like humanity has no hope, when the Reach AI says, slip space rupture detected, it blows my mind.
traffic jam on ODST is one of my favourite tunes of all time.
Halo triliogy had the classic anthems, halo 2 was a bit too heavy metal for my taste, some good guitar rifts tho.
Halo 4? after the menu i never even noticed it had an OST. the first and so far only Halo OST i havent purchased and never will.

I felt that the Guitars ruined it.
I like orchestral/acoustic music in soundtracks far better than any “modern” or “electronic”. That was one of my problems with Davidge’s tracks; a lot of them were way too digital, and because of that, the quality of the music itself was lower than what it would have been if it used acoustic and/or orchestral sounds.
