I’ve never been great at watching the radar - and obviously we don’t even get one in ranked.
But I find it hard to listen for footsteps when I have narrators, AI, and even team-mates, all chattering over the top.
It would be good if I had a button or mechanism to allow me to just stand still and concentrate on footsteps etc. Even if for just a few seconds.
I know we have the ability to change up the relative volumes of the different audio - but I guess what I want is to have different set ups for when I’m moving / shooting as opposed to standing still and trying to be at one with the map.
Or you can turn off narrators and AI and Spartan voices. Most people I know have Spartan Chatter just turned off because it’s distracting to them, because AI callouts are sufficient.
I don’t know if I could ever bring myself to turn off (or down) Jeff.
All though I could do with out the “we have the ball” every time someone tries to flag (ball?) juggle it across the map.
Or for the umpteenth time that he calls out “Over Kill”! during the match!
Ok, that last one doesn’t happen very often…
And I do actually like my AI.
But yes. Spartan chatter can go. But that still leave’s team-mates. Although, again, I guess that doesn’t seem to be a huge problem with people actually using their mikes in ranked.
Hmm you can try Compressed sound mode. I use this for any shooter I play if the option is available because it allows me to hear everything equally. Explosions and ping blips won’t sound drastically louder or softer.
Audio still isn’t great in general. I’ve also seen that footsteps are simply still not working well, which has been an issue since launch. In particular, it seems impossible to hear someone coming up the tower at Live Fire from dummies. Twice in a row in our last oddball game someone on our squad was backsmacked up there (it’s a popular ball hold) because there were no footsteps coming up behind him.
