Before I start I want to mention that I have never made a new topic on the Waypoint forums so if anything is wrong leave that in consideration.
Onto the topic, I’m recently getting back into Halo 4 to finish some of the weapon commendations and I have realized how much fun it would be if at the same time I could level up more. I reached the cap after like 2 months of the game releasing, kept playing for a while and then after a while just stopped playing. Sure, being Aussie meant almost all the time I would lag because of foreign hosts but I remembered the reason why I really stopped; the level cap.
I had so much fun leveling up and getting commendations at the same time, but now with half of that gone all commendations is just something to get armor and stances. Now I don’t mind if I don’t unlock anything while I would be leveling up, but it was fun in Reach and it is most definitely fun in 3.
Many could have asked for this 343, and they have. But now since a patch or whatnot is coming at some point in the near-future, I feel it is the perfect time to ask for this since you guys may never patch this game again in the future due to your deadline with Halo Xbox One.
Please 343, I agree with people in that it is not that great a Halo game but it is a great game by itself, adding this level cap (I think personally) will bring people back and I’m sure many would agree. The chances of this actually happening are very, very, very slim but this game needs it.
Remember that not everyone that owns a 360 is going to have a Xbox One at launch or even during the first year. Let me know guys if you would want this, even if it is too late in the games cycle.
Edit: I forgot to say to vote for multiple if you are done with the game, I’d still like to see what people would think.
343 shouldn’t add more ranks, they should put as much time as possible into the next halo game.
I don’t care about spartan ranks, commendations, armour permutations or weapon skins at all. If it doesn’t affect game play it doesn’t matter. I just try to win the next game I play, that’s all.
If 343 does anything to halo 4, they should address the game play problems, not the meaningless little stuff.
I also want them to put as much work as possible into Halo Xbox One but (and I’m not trying to be ignorant, I just don’t understand) how hard is it to put that number up to a thousand or something? (Again not ignorant just misunderstanding) As I have said not everyone is going to have a Xbox One straight away, and Halo is basically the only thing keeping me on Xbox’s side honestly.
I don’t want to start a big thing but it really has me stumped on why it wasn’t and can’t be implemented.
I would still be grinding Spartan Ops if the level cap were higher. Just like I currently am in Reach grinding through Firefight. After all these years, still nowhere near Inheritor.

Truth, tho I am ranking up on regular MM firefight is all fun and stuff but after 30 games striaght it can get boring, I just made it to Noble but im still quite far away from Inheritor.
Here’s the thing, leveling up in Reach and 3 meant that every time you booted up the game you would have something to do in the game regardless of if you wanted to do one thing or the other. I could not give a crap about how much I’m leveling up now but then after playing the game after a while realize that I’m so close to that milestone level and want to reach it before I stop playing.
I don’t know, I want to believe it to work in having the cap be increased to be more so like 3 or Reach as I know a lot of players that wouldn’t stop with those games until they were highest rank even if it took years. And I thought it would be the same if it was implemented into 4 earlier, too late now.
The level is, in the end, just an arbitrary number. It doesn’t matter. It shouldn’t be an element considered in improving this game, when there are SO MANY OTHER PROBLEMS that literally everyone on this forum admits are an issue.
You can add as many toppings on this game as you want, but if the core ingredient still tastes like -Yoink-, then the game will ultimately still be -Yoink-; just a very pretty one.

While this is true I also believe that Reach was a failure but people still played to level up. I completely agree with you on topic of Halo 4 being a bad Halo game though and that the problems either need to be priority or taken into account for Halo Xbox One, the latter being the more needed one at this point before doing anything with the level cap. But increasing that number is probably the best they can do in a patch I would think, besides also removing sprint and AA’s in a playlist.
I agree with everything you guys are saying but something whether it be level cap or something that would bring back that Halo feeling needs to be done before the game dies.
