Drop wall, repulser both push away grenades, you an even get a medal if such pushed object with teh repulsor ends up killing the person who used it called “return to sender.”
On a side note I think drop wall need a little more health it falls way to quickly to AR fire…
Yes but it has a cool down, meaning all a group has to do is stagger their grenades. Granted out side of a 4 stack no one is smart enough to do that, so in most matches you are right.
For me though the bubble created new engagements. And only slowed play at the lowest levels of play, by no means suggesting you are a lower level player, that’s just my anecdotal experience.
It has uses as a bait and switch to sword/shotty
It creates to chicken dance scenario.
It has hyjack trap potential.
If the teams are coordinated it didn’t end engagements so much as it turned long to short.
It also had huge reversal and 1v2 ability.
The drop wall How’s less reactionary and is about hankering down in a static location with a one sided engagement that ends with an escape or an easy kill.
I see how a mobile trophy system might feel op.
But I feel it works more in keeping with the personal empowerment logic of the infinites equipment.
and it keeps the game mobile.
A static trophy system is harder to balance imo.
Who far can you be, 6-12 can last a while.
Can they use a repulsor and that and Make a whole element of gameplay ineffectual for one team for an extended period in a power position.
How big an srea does it cover? How many can benefit at a given time?
I think a personal defence on a timers thats mobile is more interesting especially in btb where you could use it and then get in a vehicle.
Just feels like it suits halos more mobile gameplay.
I think there’s more interesting ways to do area denial.
The core concept of a grenade protection is good. Relulsor is more active in the role and I’m not convinced a passive one is better but certainly worth exploring
Sounds very not halo… Not a fan of this idea one bit.
Grenades are core halo, your movement IS the anti grenade system. I have zero issue getting out of grenade kill zones.
Maybe if they left the og halo controls others could too.
If you’re on controller and using default controls, are you even playing halo? And if you’re M&K, this suggestion would make more sense, and makes me dislike it even more.
What are you talking about? 343 Issued every Spartan a Mk. III Face magnet. Every grenade that’s thrown my way seems to go straight for my head, so yours is probably just busted
I’d be down with that! Could be super interesting and balancing especially on the territory matches of BTB. It would definitely make defence easier as one of the biggest dangers defending a location is the ever present terrors of the dreaded grenade spam.
In all seriousness though, that sounds like a decent idea! Maybe they’ll add something like it in one of the future patches / content drops?
Not really, One I hate call of duty, but two campers are part of every FPS, and in halo if you camp even with the right gear to do so, some SOB is just going to back slap you.
Nothing can make it CoD and that is a good thing.
Been using that and the drop wall, but still think we need more neutral equipment and a grenade destroyer is the easiest one… next to land mines, that doesn’t stop the flow, instead just changing it.
EDIT:
one thing is clear from this topic, this would be a polarizing equipment item some would lover it, and some would hate it. And it would have to be balanced just right to work with out slowing down the gameplay.
Well do you want your Grenades always blown away? they have to balance it somehow… it’s either cooldown so a bunch of people with repulsors don’t push you off the map along with your grenades, items and the oddball and maybe even the flag. Or no cooldown so your constantly being pushed off the map or away from players with infinite repulsor uses within a second…
